Ideal stop after walking, allow dogs and have a varied fairly cheap menu and a garden. Service at the bar can be a little slow

The fillet steak on hot rocks was very good. The soup starter was also good with the exception of the bread which although hot was v v dry. Generally very good food and excellent service. We will return

We prebooked the Royal William for my son's birthday. We had a large party aged from 3yrs up to 78yrs. We had some very specific and complex dietry needs and we wanted a private space. The Royal William were so helpful. They booked us into the function room where we had a private carvery for our party and all our... More

Made the effort of driving from Filton bristol for the carvery as it seemed to have good review, well that was a mistake & wished I hadn't bothered. The carvery is upstairs so you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs, 2 have fire doors to open right on the top step, you then enter this room where the... More

Had a meal yesterday and although the food and drink that we all had was mostly lovely we were all dissappointed in the level of service. We are all well aware that it was new years day and busy but the restaurant was not full and to be honest we felt that we had been pushed into a corner and... More

Popped in one lunchtime during a very cold spell at the end of November. Had a really delightful meal in this lovely old pub. afterwards we took our drinks to sit on sofa's by a roaring log fire. Perfect

We walked 10 miles along the Cotswold Way today and by the end were in need of a tasty meal. It was great to find a place in a country setting that serves homemade food all day. Our choices of sausage and mash and the cheese and bacon burger did not disappoint and could both be described as delicious. Hope... More

We have tried the carvery three times over the past couple of months and we've always been very impressed with the food and service. Would definitely recommend and great value too. We will be visiting again soon.
