Traditional English pub. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good service. Excellent menu at reasonable prices as was the beer. Clearly popular with locals - not a tourist trap.

We felt as though we'd stepped back in time as we sat in the bay window of this pub on Stiw's square. Service was friendly and prompt and the proprietor gave excellent guidance on local ales. Food was good, not as good as Kings Arms.

We popped in on a Sunday evening for a bite to eat and were pleasantly surprised to find a varied menu and they still had some Sunday roasts on the menu. The roast beef was excellent, very moist with a proper Yorkshire pudding and nice fresh veg. The steaks were of very good quality and wolfed down as was the... More

We pre-booked for late lunch Saturday as a handy meeting point for family. Staff were friendly and helpful and our drinks and food order taken in good time even though we did not all arrive together. The specials board offered something a bit different without going all gastro pub/over priced which can happen in the area as we live fairly... More

Great pub with tasty home cooked food. Staff were very welcoming, dogs are allowed and the menu was varied and great prices! Would definitely recommend!

I enjoyed dinner here the other evening. The beer ( Donnington Best Bitter) was very good and the food excellent. I had a homemade Steak Ale and Mustard Pie. It was delicious. Lovely pastry and excellent quality beef.

First time to this pub and wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, nice, simple but good food. Will definitely visit again.

Well here's a funny thing. We visited our friends in the Cotswolds last November and went for dinner at the Queens Head. It was a cold miserable midweek evening and there were very few other diners in attendance. We, however, had a very nice meal and were charmed by Ralf, the performing pub dog. Upon visiting our friends again last... More

Called in for a drink 4/4. Definitely worth a visit for a drink or to eat. Unfortunately, we weren't staying in the area late enough to have our evening meal. The guy on the bar was very friendly and welcoming. Great service. Would definitely return in we were in the area.

Turned up with friends in Stow looking for a cup of tea (know this is a big ask in Britain after 4pm!) and went to the Queens Head. Was told no tea unless we had it with food. We would have stayed for supper afterwards as the men wanted a pint but the" welcome" we received put us off. Luckily... More
