Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our reservation a month in advance was not recorded. Luckily they had availability on the night. We we’re given a nice big table in the window. We thought this was nice. This turned out to be the bar table with random customers sitting at our...table. We could not hear each other speak and could not get up to go to the toilet. After our main course nobody came to ask about a dessert . After a while the staff left to go outside and we had no one to speak to. After 10 minutes we got up to leave. This took a while as we passed the people on our table. The bar staff were unable to discount anything as management we’re not on site. We paid full price to our disappointment . This is the worst hospitality we have ever been given. An appalling display of service .More

A typical English pub with a nice atmosphere but not too good food. The beer was not cold enough and the fish in fish and chips dish was anemic. The chips where just excellent.

We popped in here around 7.45pm on Thursday in the hope they had a table free. Fortunately for us, they had a table that had been reserved, but they hadn’t turned up (how rude!). We are so pleased we got in as the staff, and...the food, were both amazing. The staff were very attentive - but discreetly so - we didn’t feel they were watching every move like some places. The food was really tasty, vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the pudding was delicious. We will certainly come here again if we are in the area. Thank you!!More

We stayed for 4 nights whilst attending Feastival recently & were allocated room 5 in the main building. Room was clean, daily housekeeping service and spacious. This is an old building and full of charm and character amd in a superb location in the square...of Stow. Bed was comfy, quiet rooom, shower hot and a pleasure to stay in after long days outside at the music festival. We ate on the first night in the restaurant and my wife had the blade of beef, which she said was superb. I had the steak, which was also good. Checking in was efficient, quick and polite and throughout the stay, staff were a pleasure. Breakfast is also good, with selections to order and whenver we asked for a slightly different option that was not on the menu, it was never too much trouble to accomodate. Perhaps some chopped fresh fruit could be added to the buffet options, but overall, excellent. Upon leaving and getting home, i realised that Inhad left skme chargers in the bedroom bedside cabinet. 1 quick email to the hotel and they were found posted to me and back here within 2 days. Now that is customer service 👏 Thank you for a lovely stay.More

Came here for lunch. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent draft beers. Just had a panini, but unlike many other places the sausage had an excellent chutney with it, the chips were fluffy inside and super crispy and the salad had been freshly dressed before...serving. Lots of care and attention and well worth a visitMore

We stayed at The Kings Arms Hotel for the week and used it as a base as it was central area to view the villages in the cotwalds. We had a lovely little cottage at the back of the hotel (room number 3) and it...had an upstairs bedroom and downstairs sofa, tele, tea and coffee facilities and a toilet and shower. The only thing about the room was that the adjoining wall was rather thin and you could hear your neighbours when they came in at night that did wake us on a couple of occasions. We had a lovely housekeeper (big shout out to Suzey) who looked after us all week who was warm and friendly. Suzey worked extremely hard and is an asset to the hotel, keeping things running smoothly in our accommodation. Nothing was to much trouble and if we needed more tea and coffee and a tidy around plus towels changed or more toilet roll she would pop in every morning whilst we were at breakfast. We ate a lovely cooked full English breakfast in the morning and it was cooked to how we requested it. Also on offer is fruit juice, tea, coffee, toast, cereals and fruit. I would recommend The Kings Arms to anyone who is staying in Stow. We could not fault it and if ever we come back we would definitely book again. Thank you Kings arms for a pleasant stay......we look forward to visiting again one day. Teresa and Roy from New ForestMore

We so enjoyed our meal here. Lovely, friendly staff. Nice ambience. And, of course, great food. The slow braised blade of beef is out of this world ! Highly recommended.

We happened to stumble across The Kings Arms whilst staying in Stow on the Wold . We were looking for somewhere to eat, having been turned away by a very rude lady in a not so far away Inn, we were greeted with a warm...friendly smile and a table just perfect for two. The food was amazing, my partner had the fish and chips and I had the beef. Both outstanding and the waiting staff were so efficient helpful and hard working. We couldn’t fault it in anyway. Please don’t be put off by some of the reviews on here as we are extremely fussy and would highly recommend.More
