Great welcome, friendly ambience. Food delicious and of highest quality. We had a lovely home made soup and goats cheese salad. The best place for lunch around. Next time we will try the cream tea.

This little gem of a tea room is, in a word, brilliant. Ambience, cleanliness, staff and the food are all excellent. Leaf tea with a strainer was a throwback to the good old days. Food was first-class and very reasonably priced. It was recommended to book a table (which I did) and it was easy to see why reserving was... More

Friendly welcome and the best coffee we have had in a long, long time. The teacakes are pretty good too.

We use this tearoom a lot and always find the staff very helpful and the food very tasty. Ideal for just a cup of tea or coffee, a snack, or a light meal.

We were looking for a place for a cuppa and came across this tearoom by chance. We liked the very warm welcome, tea, coffee etc so much we booked a table to return for lunch. We were not disappointed. Freshly prepared food (steak, ham, quiche) was ready in a fairly short time and it ticked all the boxes for the... More

Visited today 10 Jan 2017 for a cream tea with my husband. Pleasant welcoming and very friendly. Scones were superb and served with plenty of cream and homemade jam. Loved the fact that bone china cups were used, makes such a difference , also loose tea instead of tea bags! Thoroughly recommend.

Hello babsybuxton The cream teas are always popular with homemade scones, choice of homemade jam and a thick clotted cream! Thanks for stopping by and spending time here. Best wishes. Alan & Jackie More

My wife and I stumbled upon the Tearoom more by accident than design. I am so glad we did. The venue is on the smaller side but it did not feel cramped. It was spotlessly clean and had a fresh feel. We both had the chicken and bacon sandwiches which were very tasty. Personally I have not tasted better. To... More

Hello Petebevans Glad that you stumbled across us during your time in the town. We are tucked away but well signed, and as you saw, tend to get pretty busy! The chocolate and almond cake is one of our "occasional" cakes but is popular, and the clotted cream just adds the finishing touch! Thanks for your observations on the music... More

Came here with a friend and needed rolling out of the door afterwards - the food was so good I'm afraid I just kept on eating! It's a tiny, hidden gem which I was lucky to be introduced to by my friend who knows it well. We had the soup of the day and a jacket spud with cheese and... More

Hi travelling_pixie13 You have a good friend! Glad that you really enjoyed your visit and that you had room to try the homemade cakes as well in one of our busiest periods of the year. Thank you for your positive comments about the previous reviewer - it does discourage me when we have very negative comments made but to have... More

This is not a review for the food or tea which looked good. Title says it all. Did not feel welcome when we stepped in as the proprietor was curt, unwelcoming and not very helpful.

ello rololand Thank you for your "review" and I am very sorry to read that you felt that I was curt, unwelcoming and unhelpful. Description
PLEASE NOTE: We will be CLOSED from FRIDAY 7th OCTOBER AND RE-OPEN ON SATURDAY 22nd OCTOBER for our autumn break. We are an owner operated traditional tearoom. Much of our menu is made here on the premises, including Soups, Dressings, Sauces, Jams and of course all of our cakes and scones. We make everything from basic ingredients, not pre prepared mixes. Our coffee and tea is Fairtrade. The coffee is freshly ground and we use loose leaf tea, with the exception of herbal teas.We aim to source our produce locally as we believe in supporting local suppliers where possible. We also provide a Gluten Free selection of meals, including homemade Gluten Free scones, so a cream tea can be had by everyone!Vegetarian options are always available. We are visited by many customers time and time again, along with strong support from locals who live in the town. Regular hours are 10am to 4.00Pm (5pm Saturdays). Please note we are closed on Sundays and Thursdays. Do ring to check if you are coming from a distance. Bookings for tables is welcomed and often necessary to guarantee a table. Parties catered for.
