Location and contact

A 400 year old hunting lodge set on Minchinhampton Common in the Cotswolds, The Old Lodge restaurant provides a fairytale setting in which to dine. Built in traditional mellow Cotswold stone, The Old Lodge, at one time a hunting lodge owned by Henry VIII, is surrounded by beautiful manicured lawns ideal for summer time al fresco dining while the interior avoids clich, with traditionalism eschewed in favour of understated contemporary style. So while original old beams and pillars might remain the overwhelming impression is of a thoroughly modern restaurant with a sparkling, lively atmosphere. Views of the common meanwhile are enjoyed through vast floor to ceiling windows. The Old Lodge kitchen

Staying in a nearby town we brought the dog up to the common for a long walk. Recommended this local pub by other dog walkers. Food lovely, staff friendly. Views are magnificent, very picturesque. Coffees were much needed, nice art on our lattes.

Visited on a wet Friday evening. Welcomed by enthusiastic and young staff who sat us on a nice cosy table by the fire place! Food beautifully presented and good value for money.

Our first visit to the Old Lodge ended up disappointing us. Despite booking early we were sat at a table close up to a radiator. We were not given any choice despite the number (seemingly) of available tables. To be fair, the service was attentive...More

Enjoyed a lovely Christmas Day lunch here. We booked and requested a specific table here several months ago so were very happy with our position in the restaurant. Our daughter is a vegan and doesn't necessarily always get served the most imaginative dishes but the...More

It was very busy when we visited which meant we had to wait quite some time for our food but when it came it was delicious, beautifully cooked and nicely presented.
