We visited this cafe on the first day of our holiday, we were laden with luggage which was tricky to fit around the quaint furniture. When we sat down we were confused as to whether it was table service or you went up to order and received no help from the waitress who was too busy engaged deep in conversation... More

Great atmosphere and very quaint. I love being surrounded by books there. They do great coffee especially there lattes. I and mine with soya milk as i am lactise intolerant and it was delicious. Shame they don't have more dairy free options for breakfast to eat. I like that they have such an array of vegan milks like hazelnut and... More

We came here for coffee and ended up getting a whole veggie breakfast which was amazing and very affordable. The staff were very friendly and chatty and they have a load of board games to play - I hope we didn't bug anybody by being in there for hours playing scrabble!

Situated at the top of the town, slightly away from the main streets and market area, this is a nice venue for a quiet coffee. The interior is light and airy with tables spaced well apart.

Lovely staff, Lovely selection of coffee and tea and lovely cakes. Lovely interior design, lovely book selection. Lovely free WiFi and lovely warm place to be. Not far from the Golden Fleece pub either! (Bonus)

Lovely quaint place to sit and have a coffee, cakes looks gorgeous but we didn't have any. Nice simple but eclectic decor. Wish we had one nearer home :)

I've been coming here recently and I have to say its fast becoming my favourite coffee shop in Stroud. Nice chilled atmosphere and great homemade food. Definitely worth a visit!

I agree with previous reviewers who say this place has gone downhill. It's certainly not the buzzy, warm place it used to be. I visited at lunchtime and it was quiet. And cold. I ordered a simple bagel lunch which took 25 minutes to make. It was tasty. It was fine. I might have stayed for coffee and cake, but... More

We have been using the black book since it opened, but never again after today. Over 20 minutes to serve 2 mochas, then very rude staff. It used to be great but now run by a bunch of wanabee hipsters.
