Ancient pub with modern attitude. We visited on a weekday lunchtime in the Spring so not too busy. Delicious beers and great homemade food - wild garlic soup, a simple but excellent cheeseboard and fine looking (but not tried) quiche.

A great pub in a wonderful setting, just across the road from Laurie Lee's grave. Delicious home cooked food and well-kept local beers, served by very welcoming staff. The perfect start or end to a walk. Worth booking ahead.

We've now eaten quite a few times at this wonderful pub althoughj we've realised that booking is essential as it is very popular all year round, being quite snug in the winter but with a large decking area for the summer with lovely views across...More

The Woolpack, 'notorious' in the past for being associated with Laurie Lea and trading on his name. It appears to have new people running it who offer a friendly welcome and reasonably priced food for the tourist (and locals - who don't appear to be...More
