My wife, 1 year old son and I stayed two nights at this epic venue. Don't expect a chain/mass produced room. Our room felt very individual and more a home from home. Fantastic bathroom with free standing roll top bath. Sky movies via now tv in the bedroom. The staff were more then welcoming and personal, not robotic like you... More

The Convent is more well known as a hotel and music venue but last night it held an inaugural cheese tasting event. We were given soup and bread to start with and then invited to taste and rank 11 cheeses supplied by a local dairy. Although only a few people attended, it was a lovely night out.The cheeses were superlative... More

The Convent is a little hard to locate even though the Satnav does take you directly there. With no obvious signs for the establishment, you have to turn in sharply through gates to a building that cannot fail to be recognised as a former Convent - tricky at night! Also we had to phone to double-check how to actually enter... More

My boyfriend had to stay there for three days and as I could only drop him off late, I booked a double room. The following day I realised we could arrive earlier so changed the booking to a single room with no problem. When we arrived, the young chap was helpful and offered to give me the refund there and... More

Looking forward to going back. There was so much we enjoyed there, the chapel, our room, the pianos outside, the staff, the bar and lots more

Really quite a funny place, up a tiny lane into a staff car park littered with bust pianos and smokers. The buildings are amazing, a convent closed down only 5 years ago and now (partially) converted into a hip hotel and music venue. Clearly the owners are music fans as this side of the operation is superb. The chapel has been... More

I'll be honest this is an odd place. You drive through the odd gates and it feels like you've driven into the staff car park. There are no signs and you can see directly into the kitchens. Granted we arrived in the dark, but it wouldn't have been any more obvious if you'd arrived in the day. We chanced our... More

Yes we had to wait but that is because the food is fresh and was well worth waiting for and nothing seemed to be to much trouble for the staff. In the morning the breakfast again was excellent I cannot recommend the Convent highly enough.

We haven't actually eaten here yet except the free pizza after some of the gigs. However, after 6 varied concerts it's time to write a review. We've been coming hear for 8 months now and it's been fantastic every time. Great music venue, comforting lounge and good beer. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. We're going through the... More
