The Snooty Fox has to be the penultimate cosy Cotswolds local. Every detail from its roaring open fires, comfy window seats and original floorboards to its wood-panelled walls are the epitome of British bonhomie, and the bar even has a resident Great Dane called Fred. The restaurant at The Snooty Fox is ideal for Sunday lunches and romantic tables for two, and the modern British menu is complimented by the real ales, ciders and wines available. Star dishes at the Snooty Fox include the Brixham fish pie with prawns, mussels, cheesy mash and veg; the duck breast with caramelised red onion potato cakes, greens and plum sauce; and the bubble and squeak with streaky bacon and a fried egg.

Dropped in for a quick drink. Served by Dick who couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating. Putting the tennis on and turning up the volume just for us. Made us feel v welcome. He’s a credit to the business.

Stopped on a Saturday lunch time just to have a couple of drinks. After a while a server attended to us, cleaned a table near the window and provided us with menus. Service was good with reasonable prices and would certainly visit again if I...More

Had a very nice lunch in this lovely old hotel. Service was good and the menu choice was fine. My husband loved his ham egg and chips. The ham was like he remembered as a child thick cut glazed and a hint of cloves. I...More

The hotel is in a nice location, but be aware it is on a fairly busy junction and the traffic noise can be a bit intrusive. We had a Superior room, which was lovely and spacious. It is on the top floor with 3 flights...More

We decided to book the Snooty Fox before we arrived for a short stay in Tetbury last week. It was a good move on our part as the restaurant was busy even mid-week. The menu had some nice choices on it and our starters and...More

Our waitress was lovely but they were very short staffed and she was rushing around and was so busy through no fault of her own. There were only three staff working and service was very very slow, which is testing when you have young children...More

We ate at a table at the bar as due to the low demand the restaurant space was closed. Didn’t mind that because the room was cosy and comfortable with an open fire, the manager and the locals were very friendly. The main meals though...More

Our first family trip away since Covid and we came to Tetbury. We went to the Snooty Fox yesterday, the team were so lovely! We had our 8 month old pup with us and would have happily sat in the outside seating area but our...More
