Been to many a Slug & Lettuce before across the country over recent years, but felt compelled to mention this one as the guys were outstanding during our recent meal & evening out with family friends. Service was efficient and friendly, certainly a cut above what we've all come to expect in a 'chain-pub' and everyone on duty was courteous... More

Went here for a meal after work, food was good value and nice portion sizes. Lots of cocktails to choose from, and knowledgeable bar staff made a few suggestions to try, which were very nice. Service was stellar from the time we walked in to the time we left, would definitely go again.

Having been to this slug and lettuce over the last couple years with friends and work colleagues I have in the past been disappointed with the speed & friendliness of service, however visited last Friday for cocktails, fizz and food and was so enjoyable!! Atmosphere, music and service was great. We were due to just have drinks then go elsewhere... More

Regularly visit this branch of Slug and Lettuce although I'm not a huge fan of the brand. On a chilly night it's always nice and warm, chilled out vibe with warming candles dotted around. My girlfriend loves the 2-4-1 cocktails and the comfy booths and I love that they keep Peroni glasses in a freezer! Staff seem nice enough, my... More

Went in with some friends, had some goof food and great drinks. Stayed there all night! Bar has dramatically improved lately.

Poorly managed, food took over an hour to come out; had to ask twice where our mains were, the second time they came out straight away but was cold - had obviously been sat waiting in the kitchen. Food quality was awful aside from the 12oz Steak which was very good, however we ordered 4 meals in total, starter was... More

Came here with my girlfriend for a quick lunch. I wanted a burger but unfortunately they did not have any, which was fine so I had the bbq chicken & bacon ciabatta and my girlfriend had a tomato mozzarella ciabatta. My food was dry and lacked any flavour, there was almost no bbq sauce and the chicken stringy and dry.... More

I had popped down to Pompey to meet a friend and decided to walk around the Southsea pubs; fortunately it was Halloween weekend. Likes of people dressing up, pubs decorated, a lively atmosphere everywhere. Naturally very noisy this night but drinks were good & bar staff were efficient & keeping service going. No faults.

Visited early evening on a Thursday. Received a very warm welcome ,served promptly at both the bar and at the table. We were a party of 11 but still received very hot food quickly. The menu offers a very varied choice some dishes accompanied by a fantastic salad which was a welcome change. Would highly recommend a visit.

Ordered 3 teas, not too much to ask at 11.30am. Informed would be a 10 minute wait although very few people in the bar. After 25 mins chased up the order and told would be with us in the next 2 minutes. Another 15 mins went by and chasing again finally the bar tender was preparing them. Was 50 minutes... More
