Chose this as it had a wide enough range of choice to cater for my daughter who eats vegan food and all the rest of us. It was for her 18th birthday, and the staff kindly decorated the booth with the banners, balloons and wotnot we dropped off earlier. Staff were friendly and polite, they have an option where you can give a budget and they will serve dishes of there choice to meet that, might try that next time. Food was excellent, no complaints. Mixed grill was very nice! It's not licensed so you will have to bring your own alcohol if that's your choice. Very reasonable price. Was very busy (Wednesday evening) might be wise to book in advance. Will be going back.

We went here as a table of ten for lunch and the staff, service and food was very good, some of the things on the menu were not known to me but the guy serving offered to help and let us have small tasters, the kebabs on skewers were lovely as were some of the vegan and vegetarian dishes. They don’t sell any alcohol but you can take your own and there is no corkage charge. The coffee at the end of the meal was amazing coffee! It is definitely a place I will be going to again soon and I highly recommend it.

First visit here last night with my partner. Parking around the corner £2 for the day and parking out front but slightly more expensive. On entry you need to wear a mask and can remove once seated. Menus are viewed via QR codes - very clever, the no touch service was good. All staff were in masks so in terms of Covid I felt as safe as can be. The food come fast, ordered chicken and lamb shish. Comes with option of fries / salad or rice. Chose fries for both but asked for salad too which they agreed to kindly. Food come fast, chips had a lovely season on them, just enough spice. The lamb was stunning, it was like eating a posh kebab. The portion is huge. I tried the chicken and this was also amazing. The salad has a vinegar dressing which was too much for me next time I’ll get it without, but the salad on the dish was amazing and you get a pot of what I think was garlic sauce and this complimented the dish so well. I couldn’t believe the value you get here, bring your own alcohol, it’s so cheap here they could definitely charge more as portions are big. Only negative of the night was there were practically out of deserts but, If they’re as nice as the main I understand why! I said to one of the young male staff members when we left how good the food was and this was our first time here and he asked me to leave a review if I had the time, he was so sweet I couldn’t not. Will be back for sure! My new favourite restaurant! X

I think the restaurant must have been having a terrible night, I'd heard great things, but two tables walked out while we were there. The atmosphere was not great, no music, the lights were too bright and it was cold. Our chips were cold, the salad we ordered didn't have bulgar wheat in as per the menu but was just herbs and tomato. The seitan wrap was not nice, I could only eat one bite. The wraps for our dip were missed and we had to ask for them. I hope it was just a bad night for the restaurant, but I won't be coming back sorry.

Really lovely food, starters and mains were better than the desserts though. I ordered sujuk sausages which were really tasty, vegan shwarma wrap was decent but the chocolate fondant felt shop bought and our friends biscoff cheesecake was quite frozen. However, I would still visit again as the service was spot on, staff could do with being more attentive, general walk around restaurant to keep an eye and see if anything is needed to take it to the next level. We ordered a shisha and weren't too keen with the light subtle flavour, the manager changed it free of charge. It's a lovely place with great vibes and atmosphere, mixed crowds and really friendly chilled people. Would recommend. Oh and the music was bang on!

We came for a celebratory engagement meal (our first post lockdown) and were not disappointed! Despite being an “eat out to help out” evening, staff were efficient, attentive and extremely polite throughout the entirety of our meal. The restaurant was incredibly busy and so food took slightly longer than normal to arrive but all staff were working incredibly hard to get food out as quickly as possible, and the food itself was absolutely delicious. The value for money was fantastic, especially with the eat out to help out incentive. We just want to say a huge thank you for the warm customer service we received, as well as the lovely food and great atmosphere! Felt like being on holiday but 5 minutes away from your doorstep. We spent a good hour in the garden after and had a brilliant time! Thanks again :-)

We came from the Isle of Wight to see Tim Minchin at the Portsmouth Guildhall (he was fabulous by the way) and want some food before catching the 12am ferry back. No restaurant in Portsmouth is open late and we didn't know when the concert would finish. So we rang Leilameze and they said if we ordered earlier they would stay open for us and not to worry about when we got there. Obviously the kitchen was closed by the time we arrived, but we had a Lebanese feast awaiting. The food was delicious, the staff fantastic and the price was cheap (bring your own wine with a very reasonable £2 pp corkage charge certainly helped !) I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Tucked away in a not very attractive part of Portsmouth and located in a former pub close to some other establishments which inexplicably close at 3pm, Leilamezze is a bit of a find. It appears to retain its bar origins in layout and decor which is uninspiring (we did not investigate the garden) but for all that these aspects are basic, the food is good and that's what matters. Mezze is an obvious choice although larger individual dishes are available. The order was taken and delivered accurately and prices were reasonable in these straitened times. Notably, it became quite busy during our stay and clearly has a good reputation. If you like Eastern Mediterranean food, this is well worth a visit.

Wow! so glad we came here the ambiance and service is so friendly and welcoming we felt relaxed as soon as we were seated. The food is delicious we all had different dishes and couldn't fault any of them. Happy to have discovered this place and we will definitely be returning. Its a hidden gem in Southsea.

Have visited once before with a large group of 10 friends and we had an assortment of small plates which was absolutely delicious….mainly vegetarian with some meat.. this time I went with a group of 4 and we decided to each have our own meal. It was a Thursday and not busy… The staff were friendly and we had a nice table inside and we brought our own bottle of wine to share and sm bt of beer for one of the group. Didn’t mind paying a £3 corkage but my friend thought it was a bit much to charge her the same for sm beer. We ordered the 2 x Lamb Shish kebab @ £19.95 (thought this was expensive) 1 x Chicken Shish 1 x meat wrap £8.95 & cauliflower tahini @ £6.95 which was delicious and best it of the whole meal. The lamb was tough and chewy and not worth the money… I ended up wrapping it in my serviette to take home for the dog!! Normally I would have complained but we only meet up a few times each year and I didn’t want to spoil the night. Out of the four of us only one meal was acceptable the Meat Swarma Wrap which was sensibly priced. It was the most expensive kebab I’d ever ordered and by far the worst!! I could have cooked better myself…. It has put me off returning which is a shame as I really enjoyed my first visit…. All in all a very disappointing & expensive meal 😟

Hi thegreengardener, We're glad that you have enjoyed our small plates selection previously. We too understand the ongoing issue with rising inflation levels in the UK. The cost of lamb/kg has doubled for us in the last 18 months, but we have decided against doubling our prices for these dishes as it would be unfair to pass this high cost onto you: our valued customers. We have tried to make our menu as affordable as possible in light of the inflation in this country. We'd love to have you back again! Thanks Leilamezze

I am sure the food here is excellent as other reviewers have reported, but we never got to taste it! Table reserved several days in advance: arrived to find the place closed with a notice on the door that they had to close until at least 8 July due to a staff member testing positive for Covid. I hope he/she is well, and sympathise regarding the loss of business during closure. However, it would have been simple to inform us by email or phone. We called them: no reply and their voicemail was full. On their website, there was no indication of closure it was still possible to make reservations for the period of closure. Just unprofessional.

Hey Sarah, We did actually contact all reservations by email. Some bounced back due to incorrect emails being used. Information was also on all our social media posts, the latest of which can be seen on our website homepage. Apologies if the message didn't get across and we hope you can try our delicious food once we re-open. Many thanks

A surprising gem of a Lebanese restaurant in an insalubrious setting. Passed by driving down this rat run often to avoid traffic jams and didn't think behind the unassuming facade lay a lovely and popular restaurant. It was not the traditional Lebanese that you would expect like down Egdware Rd in London with older men smoking Shisha pipes & serving very sweet confectionery, but a modern bustling place fully booked with young clientele and really great Lebanese food - fresh salads, lovely kebabs, great drinks. Highly recommend for a great evening.

I had been wanting to visit the restaurant for a while and went yesterday evening. You could immediately tell the disorganisation within the restaurant as we booked for a table inside and the waitress tried to sit us outside. We were sat at a table and then told we might be moved (which didn’t end up happening). We ordered lemonades as we had brought our own gin and waited over 20 minutes for them to be delivered. Tables around us had received their drinks, who ordered at the same time, so I asked a waitress if our drinks were ready - she mumbled something and then walked away. We received our drink over 5 minutes later delivered by a different waitress. Our food was ordered, along with 2 more lemonades, and we had opted for a few hot & cold mezze plates to share between three. It was only when the the first plates were being delivered that we were informed 3 of our choices were not available. We were then asked it we wanted something else and had to quickly remember what was on the menu to choose from. At this point we had still not received the lemonades ordered at the time of the food so I had to remind the waitress we were waiting for them. The food was average and I was underwhelmed with the flavour. All in all, a pretty anti climatic experience and i would have given 1* if it wasn’t for the fact you could bring your own drink.

Food was good and authentic. Prices were quite reasonable so cannot complain. Beginning service was good and very accommodating. We book to sit inside and change our mind last minute to sit outside. They accommodated us and found table for us outside. Initial service was good however they forgot our order twice! We had to ask twice to get our Pitta. They also forgot to serve us one of the items we ordered and got charged for it. Waiting staff did change the amount as soon as we pointed out. I did found customer service was not good as expected once we ordered everything and more focus was on big table which I found bit odd. I don’t think so I will be visiting again for quite long period.

We were greeted on arrival by the team and shown to our seat by Jacob who talked us through the menu and the social distancing measures. The food was excellent and we sat comfortably in the warmth of the multiple heaters which make the outdoors feel indoors. All round 10/10 experience , not only because of the food but because of the great service from Jacob. Have booked for a week's time and will returning regularly
