Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came from London for the oysters and it was beyond my expectations. I also had some mussels, sorry, needed to abuse on some delicious seafood here. I must say the food came quick, recommendations were great and everything just yummy. I ordered second portion 🤭...I would like to especially mention Jess that I noticed is amazing with the team and very nice and polite in customer service. Definitely worthed my trip from London and definitely will come back 😊More

I have been to thr Briny before for lunch and dinner, which has always been fine, but this was the first time for breakfast, came with a few friends, serving staff were very good, but kitchen totally inflexible would not change anything could only order...dishes from the menu, they had a smoked haddock omelette and I wanted a plain omelette, not possible, my friend wanted plain scrambled eggs on toast, but told it only came with smoked salmon, must say other friends had the full English and said the sausages weren't very nice in fact one person had a bit of bone in one of the sausages also the yolk of the fried egg was hard while the white was runny, I wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast, especially as there are so many great breakfast places close by who are all flexible about what you want to orderMore

Gorgeous food, cocktails and staff. Amazing location (even a new outside Front sun decking area whilst the sea defences are upgraded) this does not detract from the inside which is welcoming and cosy. Very high quality food, made to order, and high quality ingredients. Very...high quality cocktails, and big other drinks selections. Excellent attentive and educated staff, all brought with a smile.More

It sounds unfair to say that this wasn't our first choice, but the pub we'd chosen wasn't open on the night we were looking to dine out, and I'm sorry if the current economic climate has pushed them to have to make such a decision....Still, next time... Well, "The Briny" was such a discovery on a cold-ish night in March! We booked (a very good idea!) for early evening, and the atmosphere was welcoming and bright. We started with tarasmasalata, which was not overpowering, and then either had roast cod or skate, both of which were delicious. The location of "The Briny" is highly conducive to a return visit in Summer, when one would be able to sit outside, or be able to book a table just inside looking out on the sea.....More

Hardly unlimited!! Advertised as ‘every Wednesday unlimited mussels for £15’. Arrived at 7:30pm all of us ordered the mussels, 40-50% of them were empty shells. No problem we thought, as we can just order more. Each portion comes with chips between 2 and bread between...2. We ordered 3 bottles of wine and planned to be there all evening as it was a birthday meal. 6 of 7 of us asked for a second portion of mussels. The second portion was tiny, a cereal bowl full. Half empty shells again. One person did not eat chips nor bread so wanted more mussels. At 9:30 we were told ‘the kitchen is now closed for hot food’. At 9:30???? This unlimited mussels offer is false advertising. The food was nice, the service was ok. Had to ask twice for tap water, waited a while for the bill etc. Not sure why a busy kitchen would be shut by 9:30pm. Is it simply to avoid serving ‘unlimited mussels’??More

This is usually our favourite restaurant - we go here a lot and have never had a bad meal. Decided to go on a Sunday this time, wasn’t the normal menu and unfortunately our food came out luke warm and was really uninspiring. The best...part was the panacotta. Service was slow too. Such a shame. Will still come back but wouldn’t return again on a Sunday.More

Attention to detail both in the menu and in the service. Fully booked but each dish was spot on. Oysters very plump and fish if the day beautifully cooked

Politely asked can we order, after a modest 10/15 minute wait; waitress replied without eye contact ‘yeah yeah’! Not inspiring and neither was my espresso; watery and very weak after second effort.

Very underwhelmed and disappointed after reading all the great reviews i thought this would be a special venue for a reunion with friends. Uncomfortable seating. Greasy fried samphire drowning in fat. My plaice main very poor for the price. 4 or 5 scraps pf kale...with potatoes. Pudding and coffee was v tasty. Not worth the price.More

Popped in unplanned at 5.30 on a Wedensday and was welcomed no problem. Been a few times, but this was the first time in a while. But everything was still great so more than happy. The £15 all you can eat mussels promotions was superb...and a great addition to midweek. Long may it continue. And the tempura zamphire starter was very good, but maybe avoid if your main course is of a batter nature. We will be back :-)More

Recently booked a Christmas Eve brunch to catch up with an old friend, fully aware of the expected hustle and bustle. To my delight, the food and drink were top-notch, and the staff ensured we felt pampered from the moment we sat down until we...bid farewell. I must admit, the unexpected Saxophone player initially raised concerns of an unwanted musical intrusion, but to my pleasant surprise, it added an extra touch of festive joy to an already fantastic atmosphere. Big thanks to the entire team at The Briny, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and here's to a thriving New Year ahead!More
