Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wetherspoons are normally good friendly public houses, with good customer service. However, on this occasion I was overcharged the advertised price, when I mentioned this to the manager, he stated that it should have been altered and was not, consequently there was nothing he could...do but overcharge me despite admitting it was not the advertised price.More

The place was crowded and my table could do with a good clean. It is typical of a busy pub with a high turnover. We ordered cod and chips and the fish was crispy. The hamburger was OK. Price was very cheap. Overall it was...still a nice experience in a good value pub.More

This pub offers a great value on traditional pub food. The lunch portion of fish and chips was very generous. Something we would pay $20 for in the States was only about $10, and it was very delicious. We usually eat at a Wetherspoons at...least once when we visit because we are never disappointed.More

We went to this pub for breakfast and saw that it was a popular spot near Portsmouth's Guildhall. The breakfast menu was interesting. I went for the miner's benedict and my husband for the traditional breakfast. These were really not expensive, either. However, despite the...meals looking good, they were cold when they arrived with us. Similarly, coffee and tea - self-service at a machine - were tepid. I'm afraid we won't be having breakfast here again.More

Couple of local ish ales on, could have done with more to get another star. Standard spoons food and environment. Always know what you get and that’s the attraction

We went for full English breakfasts, great price but felt the portions were very small considering a portion of tomato was half a tomato half the size of my thumb, a portion of mushrooms was one mushroom about the same size and a portion of...beans was literally one tablespoon. The sausages were delicious though. Wouldn’t have complained about the portion size considering the price if it hadn’t come out very cold. It came very quickly after ordering which was great but when it was cold you know everything had already been cooked before and just plated once ordered and no effort had been taken to make sure it was even hot. I love going to a spoons and you always get great prices. For drinks it is the perfect place to go but have found across the chain, particularly at this spoons, the food is 50/50 whether it is hot and has no issues - though I will say the burgers are very nice and good portion size.More

We arrived at the pub and ordered drinks and food via the app at our table. Our drinks arrived within minutes. We sat quite happy talking lots of people arriving after us. I’d then realised that the tables that arrived after us were receiving they...food before us. I checked the app and it had been 35 minutes since our order. I went and asked a member of staff he eventually came back and said your ordered never reach the kitchen no explanation. I asked for the manger she came over and said the same say. No Explaining just said you can either wait or have your money back. Like I said that’s not acceptable you could at least offer compensation. Eventfully we were offered one free drink and told we are busy we will get your meals out as soon as we can. Food came out I had steak mushrooms misssing from the plate food not hot Luke warm, by this point I wasn’t going to say anything again we ate and left. Never going back terrible service for a cheap chain pub.More

Disappointing breakfast if I am honest. I ordered Smashed Avocado on a muffin, which was a sight for sore eyes. The muffin was standard, and the 'smashed avocado', was a mere smear of avocado with finely chopped red onion on top. I opted to add...a 'poached egg' to my meal. The egg came out boiled. Luckily we ordered some pancakes which really made the breakfast, as otherwise, I would have been extremely disappointed.More

We visited this pub before a show at the Guildhall. It was incredibly busy and we stood around waiting for a table to be free. A member of staff tried to split tables for us but in the end someone was leaving and we had...their table. We ordered food and drink on the app and it came out quickly. The food was nice enough and a great price.More

It was busy as always with the typical spoons experience. The only let down was the shocking state of the toilets. The floors felt unclean and very sticky. There was three cubicles available. The first one was soiled on the rim with what looked like...brown poo stains and the dispenser was jammed, making it impossible to extract any toilet paper. In the second cubicle i was unable to lock lock the door as the fixings was damaged by force. The third cubicle had no door at all as it was ripped off its hinges. Someone was in there having a number two in full view. Not very pleasant when you are about to eat. It seems the toilets are not priority to the management in many of the spoons around the country. I think that is a mistake. Come on Tim Martin, do not let sloppy toilet management let you down.More

Good Wetherspoons pub. Food, drinks and service are all okay. We have eaten here a few times on visits to Portsmouth. It’s always fairly busy and the staff work hard. Recommend a visit if you want a quick, reasonably priced bite to eat before going...elsewhere.More

I do struggle to criticise Wetherspoon pubs as they are usually just as good if not better than many other places, and their prices are so competitive that why pay more elsewhere for receiving less. Certainly meeting up with old friends in the Isambard Kingdom...Brunel was more than clean, comfortable and good value. In fact as they now do draft Leffe at £3.69 a pint, which is phenomenal value, you can't go wrong. Okay all that comes with the noise and din from other customers but you've got to give them credit where it's due.More

Hello Yes the pub does have free WIFI. We use a network called the cloud. There is no password but you do need to sign up to an account. Once you have done it, it works in any of the pubs.
