Popped in unplanned after a quick visit to HMS Victory which is literally just over the road. Had two pints of Guinness and two carvers (between us) and it was all great. Good choice of meats which were all freshly cooked and very nice indeed,...More

Despite being extremely busy due to the Portsmouth Christmas Market almost opposite, we were found a table within a couple of minutes by a very helpful, cheerful and friendly young man. He explained the menu was restricted due to the high volume of people expected,...More

A hidden gem. We found it by chance on a wet, cold Saturday afternoon. It is a large pub but laid out very well. Toilets etc very clean. We chose the lasagne and home made burger and both meals were excellent. Large portions and very...More

Couldn’t say a bad thing about this place. Great service, friendly staff and the food was so good! We managed to get a table for 13 on short notice which is very rare. Everything was hot and the food cooked to perfection, even the roasties...More

The Sunday Carvery is consistently good, easily one of the best in Portsmouth. Choice of 4 meats, huge yorkies, stuffing, every veg possible, good hot gravy and all the trimmings.

We stopped here for a late lunch after visiting the Mary Rose. We chose to order off the menu instead of their carvery. It took a long time to get our food, but the food was ok. Nothing special.

My wife and I had an hour and a half between films at No 6 Cinema in Portsmouth dockyard, so dropped in here for a drink and some food. It would be so easy to assume that this prime position will bring people in irrespective...More

Have visited here a couple of times for drinks. Drinks are well priced and staff friendly. This is a big place with plenty of space and seats. Haven't eaten here but menu including carvery looks good. Will visit again!
