With this being the second visit at this restaurant, we felt we should order what we chose on our first visit. We opted for the 16oz Chateaubriand Steak with came with 3 sides. And let me tell you, we were not disappointed. The steak was...seasoned and cooked to perfection leaving a pleasant and playful taste in our mouths. For someone who does not live closer than 2 hours to the restaurant, it was fair to say the restaurant offers exquisite food for us to travel the distance. I can safely say we will be returning for another succulent medium rare steak with delicious well seasoned sides for our mouth to experience an amazing journey of taste that this restaurant has taken us on. Although, we did have to ask 3 times for tap water due to the busy surroundings of the restaurant. This was also the case when our order was taken and food wasn’t served until an hour after we were seatedMore
Ate lunch here as an annual reunion with 3 old work colleagues.
After taking temperature at the door, the welcome was warm and friendly and we had an excellent table by the bifold windows which were open allowing plenty of fresh air.
The menu had...a comprehensive choice of 8 or so starters and the same number of mains plus a wide range of steaks etc. For starters, 2 chose steak tartare, one baked goats cheese with beetroot and one had scallops. Every one was pleased with their choice.
For mains - 2 had Hampshire sirloin steaks - cooked as requested, one had plaice and one had a rack of ribs with slaw. Again everyone was pleased.
We drank a bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc and an excellent Rioja.
2 passed on dessert and 2 shared a dish of ice cream.
Coffee was plentiful.
Service was friendly and proficient and the bill was £55 per head.
I would certainly return to this restaurant.More
From the moment we arrived the place was buzzing, food was absolutely on point. Had a lovely chat to one the family who owns it. The staff were also really pleasant and extremely helpful. Pity we live so far away, but when back in Southampton...we will be going back 100%More
Great service from the moment you walk in the restaurant. Lovely scallops as starters. Steaks were delicious. Restaurant was full but you still got the very attentive staff looking after you.
The atmosphere in restaurant was lovely.
Great to be back to normality.
Will be...back again for sure.More
I visited Carnicero with a group of friends for dinner after a previously good meal a couple of years ago. The steak arrived over an hour after we ordered and there was a noticeable lack of food coming out for the kitchen - we were...surrounded by full tables with unused cutlery at 21:45 at at restaurant that closed at 22:00…. The food arrived and it was badly cooked, tasting bitter from too much char and largely inedible due to the amount of gristle. It was almost impossible to get any attention from the waiters and no one came to check how the food was - even when they were clearing away our plates full of uneaten food at 22:30 and swiftly replacing it with a bill. A £25 steak that was no better than what I could have cooked up from a £4 Lidl steak. No plans to return.More
