Sublimely well cooked cuisine. The onion bahjee is arguably the finest I ever tasted. As for the chicken tikka jalfrezey, perfection, just pure powerful perfection.

We visited for lunch on a Friday (I am fairly sure that this restaurant does not open for lunch Monday-through-Thursday. I started with an excellent Seekh kebab, cooked in the tandoori - plenty of flavour. I continued with Jumbo Prawn Jalfrezi. This contained three huge...prawns tandoor-cooked in the shell. They tasted great. The curry was two-chilli hot, as advertised,with very interesting spicing. When we asked if the chef was Indian or Bangladeshi, the reply was that they had one of each! I understand that 90% of England's 'Indian' restaurants serve Bangladeshi dishes. I find the spicing more exciting in true Indian restaurants (often called Nepalese). Anyway, both dishes were great, as was the cold Cobra lager. My friend chose a lamb dish, on the bone and served upright with the protruding main bone at the top. Best Indian food we've ever had, a firm favourite with us for years. However the service and staff aren't the best. Staff arguing amongst each other, when it's busy they often look angry and flustered and seem to take it out on each other. Creates...a bit of a bad atmosphere. We used to go regularly but the staff now put us off dining in the restaurant so we only get take out now.More

We always visit here when we come to Southampton, one of the best indians we have ever had. If you fancy an indian when in Southampton definitely go here you will not be disappointed

Disappointed with visit with my family as we had been looking forward to dining at this restaurant. We went to the restaurant at 7pm on Saturday 30/09 with a confirmed e-mail for this time. Only to be told they had no room and it was...clear to see they had allowed walk-ins to take the tables as there were groups of football fans sat at tables . After a while we were offered downstairs where their buffet was. So after we settled ourselves in our table next to the toilet corridor. We had to ask for a drinks menu and the correct amount of table settings ( they set the table for 3!) The food was good but not great and medium hot in temperature not spice. The whole experience puts you off going to these large restaurants as it is clear it’s more about volume than quality of experience. 6/10More

Went last night for my birthday. Table was booked before hand but waited 10 mins to be seated, well told “sit there” staff are not polite in the slightest. When we eventually sat down, we ordered a bottle of wine and starters, we weren’t ready...to order mains. The starters came out, but there was no room on the table due to menus, drinks etc. the staff member made it very clear this was our fault. I went to the toilet and my husband spoke to one of the staff, who apologised and took the menus off the table, not really sure how that helped, and said he would bring them back after our starters to order the main. The menus were not returned, so we went to pay our bill, at which point someone decided to give us a 15% discount, almost laughable due to our experience. And when my husband was given his change it was rudely pushed into his hand. Whole experience was made out to be our fault when, in fact, we eat out quite regularly and just wanted to try something we hadn’t already, for my birthday. Will NEVER revisitMore

BLAND. BLAND. BLAND, not sure if the chef was on an off night but the curry was god awful. I've tasted better ones from Aldi in a bloody jar. Thankfully I chewed on a toilet block in the bottom of the urinals and it took...the taste away. Just keep getting a Citrix after taste. Amazed this place still open. Who ever cooks the naan. 8/9 pound for some poppadoms scandalous, had to ask for a drinks order to be taken after sitting for 20 minutes, chicken masala came, chicken was overdone & sauce basic with no spice at all, waiters were not friendly at all, no manners or customer...serviceMore

We are always visiting this restaurant when we are in Southampton. Once again the food and service was absolutely amazing. Tasty starters and spicy and delicious curries. Special mention to Selwyn who was brilliant. Can’t wait to come back

Beautiful food as always but unfriendly service, no welcome, felt very uncomfortable, staff didn’t interact with us in a friendly way at all nor with each other, disappointing experience.

Booked this place for a gathering of friends. There were lots of staff and I thought the service was pretty good considering it was quite busy. The touch of a free round of shots was nice after paying. The food wasn’t bad, I have had...better of each of the dishes I ordered and the vegetable samosas were particularly bland tasting. But, we enjoyed our visit on the whole. Pricing was a little expensive. I appreciate things are more so these days, but the shock of seeing 10 popadoms and a few small dips (which didn’t even include lime pickle) coming to £17 was a utterly ridiculous.More

This pace is a gem serving the freshest and best Indian cuisine that we have had in sometime. Service was great and this place comes highly recommended. Its a shame that we couldn’t move it to our home town.
