A rather disappointing menu which is overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. The waiting staff were lovely but really this pub should be so much better than it is. We left early due to 2 very drunk men causing a lot of noise...More

Amazing location but food very poor. Chain food, really. The only thing of any quality on the menu is the whitebait, which taste lovely but the portion is measly (about 1/3 the size of any other place). With the custom this place gets it really...More

On a hot summers day on a famous old pub right on the river Hamble, what could be better. Visited the Jolly Sailor many times over the years and the atmosphere on a nautical theme has not changed. Although now one of Hall and Woodhouse...More

Those of you of a certain vintage will remember The Jolly Sailor from the TV series “Howard’s Way”. Well, the location is very nice for a lunch on a hot Tuesday! First tip is get here early - we arrived just before 12.30 and did...More

I love this pub. I first came here 40 years ago and it is still good. A beautiful location for our family Sunday lunch. Sitting outside on the waters edge, surrounded by boats in the marina. And the food and beer are good as well....More

I have been going to this gem for 50 years , it never disappoints, the location alone is worth the trek down & up the steps unless you are lucky enough to come here by boat. Real ale good food in a genuine old building...More

The Jolly Sailor remains a fantastic location for boaters as an impromptu sunny day brought us up the River Hamble. Food remains pretty standard to be honest; good quality food priced appropriately given its location, views, character et al. The staff are average at best,...More

We quite often come here for drinks and some chips in the sun. Great views and lovely pub and the chips are always good. Only criticism being I asked for a coke and what I was given wasn’t full fat but I wasn’t asked if...More

I only visit this lovely pub in the summer and wrote a review in 2016 praising this lovely pub but criticising the habit of bar staff not filling anywhere near to the top of a pint glass and impatient looks if I asked for a...More

If you follow directions to the railway station, there is a free car park there. However be prepared because there is quite a steep walk to the pub (300-400 metres away).
