Popped in for a pint, so can't comment on the food. London Pride was ok, nothing more or less. The place looks all nice and olde worlde from outside but is really in need of investment by the brewery (Fullers). The bar has paint peeling off the walls, the furniture is tired and dirty and the place smells stale. Bar... More

Called in for lunch. Nothing on the menu for Vegetarians except the usual, macaroni cheese or a sandwich. Whole place looked tired and not very welcoming. The place seemed to be stuck in the past and service, delivery and choice were seriously lacking. One to drive past. There are better ones further on up the road.

Stopped off here for a quick cola in the summer, the Hamble river either ends... or begins? in this pubs garden, there's a pathway that definitely starts in the garden,, and goes through woodlands , follows the river, and along the way there's a tree with a little door in it, they call it the wishing tree apparently, this is popular... Stopped off as the pub looked inviting, and we were in need of a snack for lunch. It was a very cold wintry day, and we were welcomed by friendly staff and a lovely warm log fire. We both had a sandwich, and I must say that my brie, bacon, and cranberry was probably one of the nicest sandwiches i... More

Had my annual business lunch at The Horse & Jockey Pub in Curbridge. The food is excellent...home made delicious pie and home made prime steak burger with all the trimmings. Hot fresh veg and all delicious. I've not eaten in this pub for a year - I only live up the road in the village Botley and it was a... More

Stopped at this pub for a family dinner. Let me say from the outset that the staff were great, but the pub lacked atmosphere and the food was disappointing. The starters were ok and the portions generous, but the main meals were ruined by a strange gloop which was passed off as gravy or a jus. The bill was very... More

Dropped into The Horse & Jockey for lunch today. Have visited this pub many times over the years but not recently. The food was of great quality and excellent service. The lady looking after us was excellent. Will visit again soon.

Gentleman who took care of us works with his son. Son is manager and chef. Amazing little place with quite a story about a whale :) Here in Southampton for two weeks and have visited several times for drinks, nibbles and a meal. Everytime has been a great experience.

What has happened to this place? The staff are unfriendly, uncommunicative, the beers poorly kept and over priced. The atmosphere has gone from this once welcoming pub. What a shame. Will not be returning

Stopped for a drink on the way past on a Friday evening. Wish we had not. The place looks great from outside but inside is run down, smells of dog and is completely characterless. Last went here 20 years ago, looks like that was around the last time it was cleaned and decorated.
