Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent restaurant, comprehensive menu with lots of choice. Friendly staff, attentive but not pushy, service top class, it’s the small things that make the difference between a good restaurant and an excellent one, plates hot and handled well, hygienic handling of the cutlery!! Ok that’s enough praise for the plates ! Now the dishes that came to the table, crispy popadoms not a hint of greasy or oily ! Chutneys etc lovely, 3 main courses all superb. Without being disrespectful finding an urban small restaurant kind of tucked away in a parade of shops wouldn’t be my first port of call …… but came highly recommended and turned out to be fantastic! Already a pretty busy establishment I understand so booking essential. Highly recommended!

Food and service was great - FAR better than many places around here.
The server did try to clear the table just as I put the last spoonful in my mouth but was apologetic about this...
Cannot give five stars because the menu isn't child-friendly (could have nuggets and chips easily) and they didn't have high chairs for babies.
Very small criticism!
I recommend this place. Thank you again.

To be honest, the last couple of times I have been here, I have left feeling underwhelmed. These were the buffet nights and every curry looked and tasted generic. However I visited with friends on a Saturday night and the food was delicious. We have a great night and fantastic food. If you’re looking to come here, maybe avoid the buffet nights.

Not been here for many years and I won't be returning anytime soon.
On arrival it took 15 mins to get a menu, people who arrived after us were already eating starters.
We chose the buffet , but nobody told us about this, just that we had seen it online. The mixed starter was horrible, Chicken Chat, I think they spelt that wrong. It was a mush of chicken, the tikka was stale, the poppadoms very frozen and the veg dish was a mess. The onion bhaji was ok.They had forgotten about the poppadoms, we had to ask for them.
The curry then came and they were just very poor quality, the chicken was low standard, the beef was so chewy.
At least 5 waiters and all but one were clueless.
Asda curry is better and that's saying something. Dont do it go elsewhere

I love curry and make my own from scratch .
Our fav curry house is in netley .came here with friend tonight as they booked.
Too busy and packed in .
You are constantly being asked if you want more drinks ,as I’m guessing this is where they make their money , yet water is not offered to be replenished .
My curry was tasteless was described as medium .no flavour at all .
Chicken was like sliced chicken from frozen Iceland .
Waited 15 mins for bill before we asked again . Yet when we were eaten they were still clearing out plates away while me & my husbands were still eaten , our friends had finished
We did get a free baileys.
No one came over to take our money so we walked off to pay on our way out .
Won’t visit again . Didn’t enjoy the experience . This was my third time here .
But was about 4 years since last time

Called in yesterday evening for a Chicken Jalfrezi and A Chicken with Sweet Chilli sauce etc.,.
The chicken was hard on the exterior and quite tasteless the Jalfrezi Sauce was like nothing that i recall of an authentic flavour and the Chicken with sweet chilli seemed to be the same sauce with possibly a few additives. I know that we are living in trying conditions for the restaurant trade but what we had had last evening seemed to be thrown together without any culinary creativity
We wont return in a hurry, if at all. Very disappointing particularly as the price is at the high end of the takeaway trade, even with the 15% discount

Absolutely awful ! chicken tikka & korma were absolutely tasteless, worst curries EVER !! The curries had no smell and no taste. You know there is something wrong when you can’t even smell the food !! I am aware that this place has excellent dine in reviews, but have now noticed sone bad takeaway reviews. I know why !! The masala and korma sauces were like water, no flavour at all. The chicken was in no way infused with flavour. In fact you could chew the chicken for minutes and zero flavour !! An absolute waste of money !! Without doubt the worst curries we have ever had. I honestly believe these are not cooked by a chef, more like cheap chicken and some sauces straight out of a jar. Maybe the chef is furloughed ?? Because for sure he is not working

Every time when I fancy indian cuisine I order from Jewels. I have been in many indian restaurants but the quality and the flavours you get at Jewels just take it to a different level. The food is cook to perfection. The meat is alway juicy and tender and the veggies are cooked perfectly.
The staff are always friendly and make you feel very welcome.
If you fancy autentic Indian food and great service, Jewels is the place to go!!

Absolutely superb meal. Great service, and special requests were included without any problem. Extra methi in the madras sauce? No problem. A couple of whole green chillies? No problem. The chicken tikka portions were generous, and the chicken was tender with a lot of flavour. A very enjoyable meal, and we will return. The only downside was that the noise levels in the restaurant are quite high. But a buzzing atmosphere suits many people, and the place was packed!

Its probably one of the nicest restaurants inside but the food quality is poor. I went there last week and very disappointed by the following
1) Not enough lamb and chicken in the curry, My dish had hardly any lamb pieces.
2) Far too many onions
3) Chicken and Lamb tasted like it has been frozen before. Certainly was no fresh
I also had stomach cramps afterward which indicates the lack of quality ingredients

Been coming to Jewels for years as the food is so good. Tonight all the dishes I had we’re the healthy option and I was apprehensive you would be able to taste the difference and it wouldn’t be as good. Happily surprised it was just as tasty and didn’t have the grease. Definitely ordering healthy options again, especially the korma option!

Recommend by a friend to try here.
Very warm welcome when we arrived at restaurant.
Had starters and mains.
Both curries were delicious, hot and the lamb was so tender.
Very attentive and friendly staff.
The restaurant is beautiful inside. Very spotless too.
Overall we were very impressed and will definitely be coming back.

Phoned in a takeaway order, and pleased to see some vegan options available. The food was ready at the time they said it would be and the flavours were great.
The photos don't do it much justice, but I didn't have any crockery in the hotel room I was staying in.
I'd happily order again, if I found myself back in the area.

Not had a curry here for way too long so grabbed a takeout for my eldest and me. We had chicken Shashlick and Chicken Vindaloo , with a plain naan and some pilau rice. All cooked to perfection. Shashlick is easy to mess up but its one of their signature dishes and full of unbelievable flavours. The Vindaloo was rich and sharp tasting as it should be , less creamy than madras and a tad more of a kick. All perfect ... well done again to the busy gang at Jewels ...

I’ve been visiting Jewels for years now and love the quality of food and friendliness of staff.
I recently had my 60 th birthday party there and the staff looked after us very well, and I was very grateful for the complimentary bottle of Champagne from Jewel himself.
I go there at least once a week and I can’t see that changing any time soon.
