The dining room is bright&fun, where all our guests can relax and enjoy watching our cooks flipping the finest pancakes in town. At STAKKS we are passionate about our pancakes. Our ambition is to strive for perfection. Our aim is to ensure that you receive an extraordinary experience every time. Every pancake dish is freshly prepared daily on our premises and we are quality obsessed with unapologetically high standards. We only use fresh produce and real fruit, we believe in making every dish from scratch, including all of our coulis/sauces.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food at Stakk, we were expecting it to be like fast food and not great quality but that was not the case! The food is all freshly prepared and very well presented. Lots of veggie/vegan options which was nice and they accommodated my request for a vegan Mexican pancake stakk but with non vegan cheese (not a vegan!). Very nice food. Staff were good too, the only thing that lets them down was the wait time for food; we had to wait 30 mins and our meals didn’t come at the same time. Other than that nicely done!

Thankyou for your review, we are happy you enjoyed your food which we make with care and consideration for every customer. In terms of waiting time, on the weekends we do get busier which would explain the wait for your dishes. As you said, all of our food is freshly prepared and may come at different times due to this. Outstanding Customer Service

Today myself, my mum and my nephew went for pancakes. My nephew is vegan however me and mum aren’t. Since we last cake they’re menu has changed, they did have a vegan menu, kids menu and a normal menu, but they didn’t have any vegan options on the kids menu. When we spoke to the lovely lady serving named Savana, she went above and beyond to put together something that fitted all of our dietary requirements. When our drinks came, we accidentally got given the wrong flavour and my mum didn’t want to make a fuss, so when I spoke to Savana she sorted every issue we had and was happy to help! Amazing service from the lovely lady! Xxxxxxx

Really impressed by this pancake house. Really good price for a filling brunch. They cater for gluten free diets and you can order pretty much anything off the menu gluten free. Clean, good covid measures in place.

So I was sat waiting for my pancakes to come. Was sat right beside where the orders come from, the lady preparing the plates wasn't washing her hands between touching paper, fruits, chocolates. She was wiping them on her apron. Now I work in food and know that you are meant to was your hands every time. It honestly put me off eating my food here.

Stakks in Marlands will not only ignore you as a solo customer, but also won't put effort into their work at all. How come we pay draconic prices for pancakes and we get something a 10year old can make. I ordered two stakks and was served last after the people who ordered AFTER me got their food BEFORE me????? My order completely wrong! They didn't bother checking aparently because I was given the exact opposite of what I paid for. The staff hides and prolongs their work and don't even try to pretend they don't. Front of house does nothing and constantly hide in the kitchen.... Was given dirty looks every time I look at them to see what is happening with my food Honestly......theyre a disappointment and I don't advise you spending your hard earned money for them to take the absolute piss

Good Evening I have read your review and my first reaction was, this must be about a different pancake house, however to my complete horror it is not, you have stated Marlands and that is indeed us, sadly. Obviously I and my team are mortified that we have made you feel this way. You have very strong negative comments, which are polar opposite of the characteristics of our team and our company values. Amazing service and food

We came on pancake day of all days- and were greeted by the lovely Ania, who explained the menu to us. This pancake house has a varied menu including dairy free, gluten free and vegan, which is great for my mum who can't eat dairy. The staff were very attentive to dietary requirements. A waitress called Anna served us with a smile, and all the staff were so lovely! Would definitely recommend!

Very filling

Came here for breakfast and settled on a savory omelette while my friends went for sweet american style pancakes. We all enjoyed our food, and agreed it was filling - maybe too filling as I think only 1 out of the 3 of us got beyond the halfway point before throwing in the towel. they could do with doing a smaller portion for a slightly lower price for those with less appetite - although we are not small guys! Social distancing was done really well, but it's a decent sized unit anyway.

After research and reading the reviews, we drove more than 30 min to enjoy what we thought would be an incredible breakfast. We spent about 15 minutes on the menu and then I proceeded to the cashier to order. My daughter is a vegetarian and wanted to start with something healthy before enjoying pancakes so I attempted to order an omelet with cheese. (3 egg omelets are on the menu as are many different cheeses). I was told by the cashier that she could only order something exactly as written on the menu and that they do not accommodate dietary requirements. Absolutely disappointed if (1) it is the policy and (2) that she would not have checked if an exception could be made for a child to have a more simple dish. There was a total and complete lack of interest on the part of the staff members to serve the customers as they were busy chatting to one another even though there were several dirty tables to clear. (The exception was the server who greeted us after we first sat down.) I wish we had not wasted so much time driving to this restaurant.

Overrated

I had the NYC stack with extra hash browns. Pancakes were dry Maple syrup was cheap and lacked flavour Hash browns were cheap and vert oily Bacon rashers were too crispy, felt like i was eating rubber and very very salty. I think if the ingredients were better quality is would taste better. The waitress was pleasant. Place was clean and tidy. Would not return.

My partner and I came across this place, were seated and given the menu. We each ordered the English Stakk, x1 with pancakes and the other with Crepe's. The presentation was rubbish, the eggs were broken and slapped on, the staff cooking the food at the stove looked like they were borrowed out of desperation, the young boy and girl wItrons had no waitron skills, the worst I have ever seen ever! And to top it, to my astonishment, I found a hair in my food. My partner took the plate to the male manager/ owner, showed him, he wasn't preferred, just said we can have x2 latte's on the house. We had to ask for knives and forks when our food had already arrived, no salt and pepper or sugar was available. I had hardly eaten this meal, which cost £9,50 each. + x2 latte's £ 24.50 in total. Do shop around people. Perfect example of Bad customer service, lacking in hospitality experience, No experience in display, the food disply looked a mess. See attached picture showing the piece of hair which was buried under the eggs. Never again.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Needless to say I am very disappointed with your experience and account of the service, presentation and our response to your complaint. Perhaps next time when you are taking the time to write your review you will take into consideration the average rating for the establishment that you had visited, the fact that you are served by human beings and mistakes do happen and be honest of what was offered to you at the time of the complaint. Perhaps your husband didn’t share with you that a full replacement of dishes was offered, when refused a full refund was offered, when refused, it was then said at least accept some coffee , let us do something to apologise for our mistake, this was accepted, yet left untouched. All this being said, EveryTime we get a negative review we learn from our mistakes and push ourselves to be better, therefore Thank you 😊

My friend had a sweet pancake and I had the savoury. They were such a treat and delicious. You need to stay away lunchtimes or have a long wait as there’s not enough seating for all who want to eat here. That was the one downfall is you couldn’t relax and eat as you could see people wanting your table soon as you nearly finish. X

Good evening Stakks Pancake House, I would just like to say what great day out for my family today in Southampton for the first time! We was walking in I’m guessing the Marlands shopping centre ? And I saw your fantastic restaurant and busy restaurant I must say, which kinda nearly put me off from coming in. However a kind young gentleman came and greeted myself and my family and explained everything which I wanted to hear ;it’s very nice coming to a restaurant when your workers greet you with a smile and ask you how your day is ! Firstly I am Vegan and he guided me through the Vegan menu you have at your establishment, and highly recommended the HerseyS vegan Stakk which was mouth water. Moreover, he came back to the table with still his smile on his face and ask us about our food and not many restaurants do this and I think it’s fantastic!! I will highly recommend this place and wish this was closer to our home in Scotland! Thank you once again The Smiths

What a great experience we have had today. Staff have gone above and beyond to cater for our family. They immediately greeted us and provided a Children’s menu and colouring, checked if we required a high chair and were happy to source this straight away. Our little man is beyond fussy but the member of staff looking after us when we ordered was more than happy to help us in choosing for him. The food was brilliant. We had a mixture of savoury and sweet pancakes and smoothies, which were delicious! Really enjoyed our visit and will be back. Thank you.

Tastes like home!

My husband and I are originally from the US, and have been living in the UK for two years now. We decided to visit Stakks for breakfast before departing on a cruise, and it was the best decision we could have made so early in the day. The staff was warm and friendly, the atmosphere fun and welcoming, and the food was just delicious. Breakfast here felt like a nourishing, warm hug. Don’t miss out on the hazelnut iced coffee…it was awesome!

Wow! This is definitely worth breaking the diet for! The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing. We had a chocoholic, an Eton mess and a Cinnamon Apple special and had a third of each. All were lovely, although there’s no way I could have managed a whole chocoholic without my arteries clogging up for the next week. The special was my favourite. We waited a bit of time in the queue to place our order, but I think that’s partly because there are so many options and the people in front had to keep asking their table whether they wanted American or crepes, milk or white chocolate etc. We were served in about 20 minutes, which was the waiting time displayed on the counter, and the restaurant was full when we arrived. We’ll be going back to try the savoury pancakes next time.
