Lockdown treat

We had a family treat by ordering a takeaway on their easy-to-use app, collecting it and eating it in the park. Absolutely delicious, very fresh , tasty food and some nice beer as well. Would prefer to be sitting inside but as that's not currently possible, this was the next best thing.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

We went on a Tuesday early doors, we were told on arrival it was Tapas Tuesday which was BOGOF. More than happy with this, though nothing online or in the restaurant to advertise/promote this. The food was absolutely gorgeous, soo tasty and some great options if you’re not overly keen on meat, though a bit OTT with the coriander. The only downside were the 2 girls front of house who seemed more interested in discussing their social lives than the needs of customers. Excellent value for money even without the BOGOF. I’ve been to many Mexicans and paid a lot more for a lot less.

Amazing atmosphere, staff, music, beer, food! 100/10

Amazing selection of craft beer served at a great temperature. Great boxed cider also and served with a glass of ice on the side should you want it chilled. Staff were really attentive even on a busy Saturday night and we were made to feel so welcome. The music is a refreshing mix of groovy and funky anthems that make you just wanna boogie unlike other bars that just play the regular chart based tunes. Although we didn't eat there last night, we have before and the food is to a sublime quality. Tacos done to that quality are a really rare find in the wide local area so no need to eat before you head here because you'll look at the menu and wish you'd tried the food! Basically a 10/10 experience if you're looking for tasty drinks, great atmosphere, good service and good tunes. We'll be making this our regular for sure!

Mouth wateringly good!

Popped in for lunch during a brutal storm. Saw the beer&tacos sign and to be honest we were sold then. Good range of taco meat and vegan choices and I will definitely be trying to replicate the pork belly mac&cheese at home. The boys behind the bar were friendly and were obviously doing their best to be accommodating but also safety orientated in limited space. The blueberry beer is also particularly good. Go early if you want a table, something tells me it’s always going to be popular.

Terrible Customer Service

I have recently visited Overdraft with a few friends , we ordered some food and drinks. Unfortunately i wasn t happy with my half pint rhubarb cider ,it tasted dull ,warm and completely flat ,asking for ices made it worse as it became watery.When i apologetically asked for a replacement, i was told to pay for a second drink as the one they gave would be wasted.Customer satisfaction must be your priority rather than worrying about loosing on a small glass of cider.This incident made my whole dining experience disappointing,i was hoping to take my partner there but sadly it will never happen.

Great food, excellent flavours, although the tacos came out on freezing cold metal trays which took all the heat out from the food. I would advise them to use plastic trays if they can't use regular plates. One further issue, the portion of rice was woefully small for £3. However recommended overall and the beers were good too.

Little visit here prior to the fireworks in Winchester and most definitely did not regret nearly missing our dinner reservation by having a few drinks here first. Huge selection of beers and ales. And the staff really do know what they are talking about. Recommended some very tasty options for us and will be back in the summer to sample some more of the menu... Responsibly of course.

Best Tacos Ever

We stayed in Winchester for a night on our way back to London after a holiday. We wandered the streets in the evening and saw the cathedral and had a pint in a pub. We had seen the sign for tacos at Overdraft on our way by and considered it, but were more interested in the Caribbean place across the street. Thank GOD they had no tables at Turtle Bay, because Overdraft's tacos were (Aside from Tacofino in Tofino, BC, Canada) possibly the best tacos I've ever had. We sat inside, which was really, really warm, but the staff were super friendly and sorted out beers for us quickly. We sat near the back and the buzz of the kitchen and stuff going on kept us busy. We ordered almost everything on the menu...chicken, pork and fish tacos, nachos with pico di gallo to start and sweet corn fritters and wings. Can you tell we like Mexican food? The chicken tacos were probably the best, and the sweet corn fritters were really, really amazing. I've never had anything like them before. We were in heaven. It was probably the highlight of our trip. We will return if we're ever in the Winchester area. Without. A. Doubt. Thanks again!

Amazing tacos!

We’d planned to visit Overdraft after I checked out their beer selection on Untappd and we weren’t disappointed. We got there as soon as they opened and sat outside. There was a good selection of craft beers available, both on tap and in cans. We also ordered one portion of the beef tacos and one portion of the chicken tacos. The beef tacos were good, but the chicken tacos were amazing! Without a doubt the best tacos I’ve had. The staff were great, very friendly and service was extremely quick, even as they started to get busier. If we’re ever back in Winchester we’ll be sure to return!

Best Craft Beer in Winchester

If the taste of beer is your highest priority, this is definitely the best place to drink in Winchester. They have an interesting and ever-changing range of local products on tap. Many other pubs have better ambience, but I am invariably disappointed with beer produced on an industrial scale. My wife and I have now visited Overdraft several times, and have always enjoyed trying different craft beers. It is popular, so expect to be sharing a table with others at peak times. We've tried eating their tacos once, and enjoyed them too. Our vegetarian daughter likewise found their food satisfying.

The staff was amazing, they were attentive and made suggestions and made me taste different ales etc .. Had the chicken bowl from the menu - was amazing, Also had the lime fries - some were real cold and some were hot from the frier. Had a feeling they were served from leftover ! Overall very good … good ambiance. Would come back

We have visited this bar before in March and had some lovely food and beer for lunch, we do not live local so we decided to have a night away in Winchester and spend the evening here and try more of the amazing craft beer and food, so we booked a hotel and visited the bar on Friday 5th May with another couple for the evening, the night started well and we have no complaints about the beer and food it was all delicious 🤩 however we were sitting next to a girl and she mentioned to a member of staff discretly that her Margarita tasted a bit odd and she had been the week before and had several but this one did not taste right, the member of staff who turned out to actually be the manger leaned over me took the girls drink and used her straw to taste the drink told her there was nothing wrong with the drink and gave it back wile spilling it all over my bag on the way over! This is disgusting you can not drink out of a customers drink and then hand it back and tell them to drink it! I felt sorry for the girl and said to the member of staff 'excuse me but the customer is usually right you should probably offer her another drink' he told me No I won't make her another as it will be exactly the same, he was very rude. My husband then told him that is not good customer service and he replied by saying he is the manager and it is his decision and the drink is f****** fine! Wow so rude can not belive we got swore at by the manager it was extremely unacceptable and embarrassing as we had travelled over an hour with another couple and told them how great the place was to then encounter this rude and aggressive behaviour from the manager! We left and found another bar and will not be returning now such a shame.

Shocking rubbish . Ipa that is not even close to being one

Asked for an ipa. Paid 8 quid for citus fizz that is not remotely an ipa. Trading standards check this place out!! They claim its popularity is huge lol. . If that's the case I am nervous about eating out around here as they clearly don't have taste buds. Money was returned in 50 pence coins but I needed to ask and they rea did not seem to care. This was after the first girl behind the bar told another girl she was not serving as her shift was over. Note for the owners it was 5p.on Monday the 10th of June. To others with taste buds ... avoid avoid avoid

Stumbled on this gem on our way to dinner. Excellent choice of beer and wine. Friendly staff. Covid measures seemed thorough. The taco menu was very tempting with lots of choice for vegans. Would like to come back if we can get a babysitter!

2 for 1 tacos on Tuesdays is a must, it makes the food great value for money! The food is delicious and there’s plenty of choice! They had lots of measures for COVID-19 which was great. However, tables were not far enough apart. The benches meant you were set right behind other people. The staff were very friendly but a little slow and sometimes unattentive. I’d still recommend for the great food!
