Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We just had the most delicious lunch with our three kids. We are visiting from Australia and we really appreciate good food, made with high quality ingredients and with great care. We shared the meze platter, some hummus and flat bread and the owner offered options for our little boy that weren’t on the menu – he ended up having sausages and chips. The owner just really wanted us to enjoy our experience and was friendly and chatty. The food was absolutely delicious and if we were staying longer, we would be back for sure.

Popped in here to get away from the atrocious weather last Week. A warm welcome awaited us so we decided to stay for lunch. Good selection of Greek style food on the menu. Lovely lunch of a sharing meze platter including meatballs, butter beans, olives, houmous, warm pittas and tsaziki. Great value for two. Shame no baklava to finish!! The landlord was busy due to staff unable to turn up, yet the service was still excellent and he was really friendly. Definitely worth going to... Can highly recommend.

We stopped in for lunch with our dog and sat out in the beer garden (there were parasols for protection from sun/rain) with our dog. Food took a while to come but we were warned of this when our orders were taken. The gentleman waiting on our table was friendly and attentive and the food was lovely.

First visit, Saturday night. Popular pub, good bar service. We selected some Greek food from the menu, we thought a little over priced for what we received. Meatballs could have had more flavour / seasoning, the hummus and pitta were good. Good selection of ales. Will revisit.

Really disappointed with the quality of food. Ordered the quiche, salad and bowl of chips. The quiche appeared to be a cheap off the shelf supermarket bought product and the chips, for £3.95, were again no more than a run of the mill frozen fries from a supermarket!. Such a shame.

Found this lovely old pub hidden down Church Street. There was a laminated lunch menu on the table with quite limited choices of British pub fayre, sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc. I decided on the steak pie that comes with the usual frozen chips or mash & peas and gravy. I don't think the individual pie was home made although OK was probably 'bought in'. The gravy was nice and was needed! Can't complain too much as under a tenner. Tuna sandwich was OK and well filled but some cucumber would have improved it. They sell a great range of beer and are listed in CAMRA.

We booked for Sunday lunch for our family and a visiting exchange student who had never had an English roast. We were made very welcome. There was plenty of delicious food on the plates. Our student's empty plate and big smile told us that he'd enjoyed his first Sunday roast. This is the best roast lamb I've ever had. It falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. Sadly we were all too stuffed to have pudding. We definitely intend to come back to try the Greek menu another time. A little treasure within a short walk of the Cathedral. I'd recommend a visit.

Visiting Hereford on a pleasant autumn day we found the Lichfield Vaults on Church Street in time for a light lunch. The beer was excellent and the sandwiches were filling and prices were reasonable. The staff were very friendly. All in all a very satisfying experience.

I come here quite often with family and friends for a pint because of its central location and the lovely street it’s in, which is one of the nicest places in Hereford. It’s a classic pub done right - dog friendly, warm fires, real ales and nice staff / regulars. They used to let us hold events and meetings here too and were very welcoming. My only issue has been the food which, while great, is served at intermittent times so I’ve rarely had the chance to eat here.

Just had to visit again on a Six Nations weekend. The pub was packed with rugby fans watching the game on the TV screens set up. Very friendly customers to chat with, the bar staff were excellent - friendly, attentive and remembered what ale I was drinking! Complimentary sausage and chips were provided to all customers between the two matches, which was very welcome. This is a must-visit pub, especially on rugby weekends but good at any other time also .

Brilliant Atmosphere at this independent pub. Duhan and Andy are the reason pubs like this do so well - welcoming, friendly and entirely personable people. Few pubs will welcome repeat customers in the same manner that the Lichfield Vaults do. Hats off to you all - keep rocking Duhan ma bro!

We happened upon this traditional old pub in the heart of Hereford. The atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming, and the service was great. The food was fantastic value, good quality pub grub - we found the chips were particularly more-ish!

A hidden-gem in some regards for people young enough to not know who Graeme Smith is. The effort Duran and Meg have put in to the outdoor offering is a spectacle that Hereford has been begging for! Duran and his ‘Queen’ could not have taken to the roles they have any better, and I speak on behalf of the whole of Herefordians when I say we wish them the very best. Thank you for being more than just bar-people, but friends and ears as well :) You will find success in whatever you do.

Church street is a lovely part of Hereford, well worth exploring for the independent shops, cafes etc The Lichfield Vaults is a lovely traditional pub in the heart of it. The choice of drinks was excellent as was the service and prices. We were in early evening and it seemed to attract a good crowd of regulars as well as workers from nearby offices. A massive plus for us oldies was the music being played, pure 80's on our visit, happy days!!

We went to the Vaults A couple of weeks ago for lunch and decided to return. As you can see if we had the chili con Carne and the BLT respectively with some adult beverages. I have a really nice garden to sit outside and taking the weather. The staff is very friendly. I would suggest a visit.
