Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant is an absolute gem, superb food, piping hot, clean fresh flavours, impeccable service. We went on a very busy night after the England rugby match, we had an hour wait for the food but it was worth every second. The staff were rushed off their feet, but were super calm, polite and professional. This is the best Indian food I have tasted in a long time, and the staff were in a class of their own. Their attention to detail was perfect and we were served as if we were the only people in the room with a calm pleasant and friendly and professional manner without the feeling of being rushed - it is a skill for sure. High recommend.

Me and my wife just stumbled on this place, when we drove passed it looked busy and my wife said we wouldn’t get a table, we tried anyway and when we walked in we where greeted and welcomed, we where shown a table and got some drinks. From the out set the service was really good and the staff as busy as they were pull the effort in. We ordered food and it was well presented and very tasty, it was served on hot plates which is a bonus. This is the best Indian food and service I’ve had in a long time, and coming from Ross on Wye we will now make the drive to this restaurant on a regular basis.

Twice in the last week we have eaten at Sitara. Once was a take away. And once in the restaurant itself. The simple fact of saying we ate there twice in a week should be proof of the excellence of the food. But above and beyond the outstanding food, the welcome, the service, the warmth should also be seen as outstanding. We arrived as a group of 8, slightly late in the evening, but were welcomed, accommodated, and served to the highest standard. Please consider this review to be exceptional.

We went here as it was recommended to us, we live in Cheltenham and everyone in Ledbury says its just fantastic and you will be really looked after here. But we weren’t ! Perhaps we came on the wrong night, the place was exceptionally busy lots of people waiting to pick up takeaways, we were asked to wait as our table wasn’t ready, but there was no where to wait, too many people crammed in already in the small space by the door. When we got to our table we ordered drinks, popadoms, mains and naans. After eating our popadoms we then sat for over an hour before our plates arrived in readiness for our mains, we asked the man who bought them if we could get some drinks but he was in such a hurry, I don’t think he heard us. We then sat there trying to get another waiters attention as they ran through the restaurant with take away bags. When we eventually got our curries we unfortunately weren’t blown away, but were exceptionally hungry. the prawn Jilak was ok nothing special and my husband said the lamb was tender in his but way too much sauce and not much meat. The prices are ok for what we ate and drink prices reasonable too, but I’m not sure our trip over was worth it. We have eaten better and had better customer service. I have no problem waiting for my food when a place is busy, but would like someone to tell me there is a delay and perhaps check in and ask if drinks are needed.

We came here at 7.30pm on a Sunday night, without a booking, and had to wait 10 minutes or so for a table, and perhaps were a bit lucky to get a table.
Service is very good, so is the food, my chicken korma was great (although perhaps a tidge too sugary) my friend's biriani was also very good, and the naan bread was amazing.
2 x mains and 2 x zero% beers came to £35.40 or £40 including tip.
It's a nice looking place, quiet, unfussy decor, friendly and efficient service.

I must be unlucky as the experience I had was nothing like all the 4 and 5 star reviews here. Perhaps my expectations are unrealistic having lived in an area with outstanding restaurants before moving to this area
Ordered a takeaway and arrived at instructed time - had to wait another 25 minutes. The price charged was £20
More than the prices indicated on line - apparently they are out of date….
Food was nicely packaged though and smelt delicious on the 10 minutes drive home
Poppadoms, pickles etc were first class
Starters were pretty good so we were then looking forward to the main course…oh dear
Watery sauces, with about a third of the amount of meat I’d expect on such a serving - add to this the meat was very chewy and dry, and (my personal bugbear with seemingly ALL takeaways I’ve tried in Herefordshire/Worcestershire) the Peshwari naan was indistinguishable from a plain naan
Perhaps I was just unlucky, but at £50+ I shan’t be risking it again

Outstanding service. I usually go for korma and though I asked about the fish dishes, I ordered the korma. Danny persuaded me to try the fish although sure the korma was almost ready - he said I could change my mind and I should be more adventurous. This was said in a gentle manner - not pushy. I did try it and it was very good. Lots of nice touches - such as hot tissues to wipe our hands and after eights at the end of the meal.
All the staff were very nice and very efficient. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.

We booked a table for 4 & we were warmly greeted at the door & shown to our table. The staff were very attentive & took our order for drinks & food. After the drinks arrived there was a short delay before the food arrived. The food was devine & well worth the short delay while it was cooked. The staff were very smartly dressed & very knowledgeable about the food on the menu. I would definitely go back & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sitara to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Ledbury.

The presentation of the restaurant is good. The initial starter of Prawn Puri was good. However, spoilt by my glass of water smelling of bleach. The main course of Butter Chicken was very bland, and Roti's under cooked. Altogether not great. If the rest of the main courses are like this I would give it a miss. It is a popular restaurant however. My local makes it better.

We had heard good things about Sitara so decided to go for a Christmas curry when we went to the late night festive event in Ledbury. It’s easy to find on the High St, clean and pleasant environment, friendly and helpful staff. We had all vegetarian options and it was all delicious! We would all definitely return.

Very pleasant premises but I didn’t enjoy my meal, it was one of the poorest Chicken Dhansaks I’ve eaten and I only eat this dish and have been eating it for 40 years. The chicken was poor too, dry.
It was disappointing to see that the two serving dishes that the meals arrived in remained on the table throughout the meal, the service needs some improvement as the table passed many times by waiters that see but don’t look!
All in all this adds up to my poor assessment including the fact management don’t acknowledge reviews which shows poor interest in customers.
The best Chicken Dhansak in the area is for me still The Lamp at Cleobury Mortimer

Our food was absolutely gorgeous we had been before and we’re looking forward to celebrating my husband’s 60 th birthday.
The only negative would be the cold unfriendly service could be improved bordering being served by robots .
I understand that they have a good reputation for the food and quite right too but shouldn’t get complacent as a smile and a friendly welcome goes along way .

Absolutely fabulous! The food at Sitara was exquisite! We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Pasanda, Chicken Curry with Cashews and Green Chillies, and Mushroom Bahji. This is the best tasting Indian food I've had in years! The service and value for money were also excellent and the ambiance pleasant. You will not be disappointed! We will be back on our next visit from the USA!

Superb food and service. We walked in on a busy Friday night without a reservation and were welcomed and seated within a very short time. The food was sublime and the service faultless. Many thank to all.

Fantastic restaurant. Really tasty, freshly cooked food that tastes like it’s been made with care and not just chucked together. A notch or two above your typical Indian restaurant. Excellent service clearly well lead from the front
