We went to The Goat today with family and I would highly recommend it! We all had something different and the meals were superb - generous portions, very well presented and extremely tasty. Service was excellent - attentive and friendly. If we lived nearer it...would become a regular haunt without a doubt! Lovely outside seating areas and right on the Heath too. Definitely give it a go if you're in the area. PS: I had the seafood platter and it was AMAZING!More

Absolutely amazing service and food today! Wanted to treat my mum to lunch and Laura and the team delivered! Felt so special and everything was made to perfection. The food was brilliant and a great portion size. The price was super affordable too. Couldn’t recommend...The Goat more. Thank you to all involved in making our Sunday perfect!More

Happened upon this Pub/Restaurant by accident. Easy to park. Lunch time midweek. A very warm welcome. Good choice of food and "specials" board. Served at table. Beer and Lager served immediately. Food order taken promptly. Food arrived in good time, looked lovely, condiments produced, food...at perfect temperature, and tasted very good. Will call again even though I live 25 miles away.More

After a very challenging couple of months, I have found a sanctuary in this gorgeous quaint historic village pub run by wonderfully friendly staff in a gorgeous village setting. Laura has really upgraded this establishment and revolutionised the vibe with her family. Amy was a...particularly attentive and considerate waitress when I took some wonderful friends from Bedfordshire here yesterday afternoon, who came to cheer me up after a particularly harrowing spell in my life.More

Our first visit to this area, we had business nearby and dropped in for lunch. Our first impression was of a local pub facing on to the small village green where people were sitting about enjoying the weather and playing boules. The car park had...plenty of space, and I spotted two well-loved old sports cars among the cars parked there. In front of the pub were several tables facing the green, but it was getting hot and the shady ones were taken, so we went into the garden which was more secluded and somewhat haphazard - which may be deliberate. There is a good casual atmosphere. The menu was built on the idea of 'pub lunch' but more appropriate to the times so more sophisticated but excellent value and plenty for vegetarians or other special needs. A well-thought-through menu, I'd say. I had the crayfish and avocado starter and an enormous ham, egg and chips. My wife-the-vegetarian had the baked Camembert. A good solid, tasty and home-cooked lunch. Service excellent : they even tried to get me to pay for our neighbours' meal instead which was a fraction of what ours would be, probably because they'd only just had drinks so far ! Our real bill was excellent value. I can see why this must indeed be what a good pub should be : friendly, local, good food, good ambience, the sort you'd keep coming back to.More

After the long months of lockdown, how lovely and amazing was my experience here! From the food being delicious, to the staff being friendly, polite and ensuring we all feel safe by following all health and safety guidelines - it’s been just wonderful! A popcorn...pork belly with apple sauce a day will surely keep the doctor away!More

I had a great time in The Goat last month: they had my favourite cider on tap, the food was great : steak and fries perfectly cooked (coming from a French person this means a lot). The service was great: staff was checking on us...and were very friendly as were the owners. I will definitely be back when in Hertford !!More

I didn't notice specifically but everything is on ground level. Sorry. I'd give them a ring, they're really nice and helpful. 🙂
