Great for a breakfast treat with papers, nothing more need be said, just try it. From full on to eggs Benedict and most things between, all good, served quickly with good , suitable staff. Enjoy!

Booked for 3, for a business lunch. Chose from the Lunch Menu and we weren't disappointed. Calamari x2 and Bacon & Egg Salad for starters, followed by Chicken Breast with Puy Lentils, Steak Frites (x £2 supp) & Cod Goujons. All good service, great food and a great environment. Will be returning! Thank you.

Always very good. Pate and brioche delicious I shared it with my husband and asked for extra brioche. Steak and fries tasty. Nice service. Nice glass Merlot. It's always one of our favourites.

I Eat here often. The menu is varied and good, and staff is always polite and friendly. The early evening menu is particularly good value!

Onion soup was probably one of the best I've tasted. Also the cheese starter was really tasty but a bit smaller and different then what I thought we'd get from reading the menu description. Haddock main course good again, partner had pork belly nicely cooked and the garnish for both our dishes were excellent. Really tasty, recommend the gratin potatoes... More

We tend to prefer independent restaurants to chains but this was booked for us as part of a family reunion. I'm so pleased it was. The early bird menu of two courses for £10.95 or three courses for £12.95 offers exceptional value. The portions aren't huge in themselves but together make a substantial meal which is how it should be.... More

After an evening of drunken debouchery we found ourselves at the cote brasserie at 10 pm on a cold November night. To my surprise the staff were happy to see us and we're very welcoming, the calamari was very good followed by a steak done to perfection the cutlery and glasses were clean which is the most important thing in my book... Just another lazy lunch out with the little one, child friendly menu with a nice mini grown up feel to it, what could go wrong? A little hick up with my order, a medium rare fillet steak, I received a blue sirloin and there whilst I was waiting I was anticipating the cook and resting the chef would do for... More

I've visited the Cote in St. Albans twice now in the last month (one for a birthday and one for family over from Ireland) and both times we have not been disappointed. The food is of a very high standard and is very tasty. The service is 1st class and I would recommend to anyone.

Description
Our inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, we are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great prices. On the menu, guests will always find brasserie favourites on our a la carte menu such as steak frites, moules marinieres, corn-fed chicken from rural Brittany and tuna Nicoise, for dessert, Cote's creme caramel and creme brulee are much-loved house specialities.
Seasonality and Cote's commitment to sourcing high-quality ingredients results in a monthly changing specials menu, ensuring there is always something new to delight regular guests and gastronomes alike, as well as the excellent value set menu. Open early every day for breakfast, through to lunch and dinner; Cote's atmosphere is informal and friendly
