About
We wanted to create a place where we would like to eat, relax, and enjoy great food with great wine and of course fantastic friends so we embarked on a journey that bought us to Ventnor as it’s a place we have always had an interest in having spent some time on the island looking at where to settle Our menu is all about great food in season but also supporting the fantastic homegrown produce of the island when possible and supporting local suppliers The menu will change often to ensure we give our guests a choice of new dishes to try, whether it be a classic or something with a twist and a little different. We will look at any dietary requirements and always best to mentioned this when booking

So delighted to discover such a wonderful new restaurant on the island! They are few and far between!! From our first communication with them, the whole thing was a delightful experience! Fiona responded quickly to our reservation enquiry and assured us our gluten and dairy...free request would be easily accommodated. We got such a lovely warm greeting last night and had a sensational meal at a very reasonable price. The food was beautifully presented and each delicious dish was perfectly balanced. The chef thoughtfully did indeed tweak the whole meal for us to perfection and wonderfully nothing was too much trouble. The Indonesian chicken course was particularly tasty, as was the velvety parsnip soup and the beautiful beetroot starter. They even said they would pop out to get us oat milk for cappuccinos, which we greatly appreciated! From an eco point of view it’s great that they are keen on minimising waste and their super fresh food is a very welcome addition to the island. Last night was apparently the last day for that particular menu and we look forward to trying the next one as soon as possible! Thank you guys so much for a perfect evening! Wonderfully delicious and interesting meal cooked presented and served lovingly with great attention to every detail! A little gem!!More

I'm always searching for great vegetarian food that celebrates the vegetables and flavours rather than pretending to be like meat. We loved the set menus that reduce food waste and the focus on local produce. Great service.

Popped in purely on chance after hearing multiple tables talking about their experience the evening before whilst taking breakfast. Well I can honestly say the owners did not disappoint, the food was just on another level, the service was second to none, all but one...meal was delivered and explained by the chef, any queries , concerns were addressed immediately. A truly wonderful experience and we hear a new menu very soon. We will be back.More

To end our week in Ventnor we went for a bit of a treat. Five courses, chosen by the restaurant, so you are in their hands. Food very good, service exceptional. A good choice for a bit of a special night out .

If I could have given 10 stars for this restaurant I would have. The food was sublime. Where do I start. At the beginning. The restaurant itself is spectacular. We were very warmly greeted and shown to our table ( the best table in our...opionion) The table was situated at the front. Sally our server made us feel at ease straight away. We were informed when booking that this was a 5 course set menu with a drink included to which the 4 of us were more than happy with. The 5 courses were unique, perfectly executed with flavours that  danced in your mouth. I could not pick a favourite. The owners,  Fiona and Chef Lloyd are incredible people. Between the 4 of us this week, we have visited The Hut, The George and Smoking Lobster. This restaurant surpassed them all. Seriously good food. We will be back. Thank you so much. Liza Darren Fiona and Sean.More

Wow! After years of badly cooked vegetarian lasagne, the ubiquitous goats cheese tartlet and the dreadful mushroom risotto we struck so lucky with this amazing restaurant. I'm still reeling from the shock of such a superb meal with really original flavour combos. First course, a...butternut squash veloute with truffle oil, feta crumbled into it and crispy thyme leaves on top. This tasted lovely, though I cook something similar at home and it wasn't outstanding. The second course was mushroom and chestnut risotto , but not as you know it! The risotto was cooked perfectly with a lovely deep flavour. But it came topped with toasted nuts and seeds, crispy parmesan crumb and crispy tiny pieces of dried, fried onion. ..absolutely delicious with layers of flavour and real depth. I'm afraid I ate it before I remembered the camera! Hu Third course was a fat cut of roasted celeriac flavoured with Ras el hanout, on top of a delicious mix of little green lentils and bulgar flavoured with lemon. Strips of perfectly al dente courgettes surrounded by smoked chilli sauce , a few chickpeas and blobs of pea puree lifted it to superb. The fourth course was a rissole of toasted polenta. I'm not a polenta fan, not liking the grittiness, but this was smooth and had a thin layer of Cheddar melted on top along with a big portion of black olive tapenade, all sitting on wilted spinach . It was all set off with an excellent pesto dressing and decorative blobs of carrot and pea purees and tiny picante peppers. The tapenade might have tasted sharper with Kalamata olives, but that is picking hairs. Pudding was superb and I couldn't finish it all. A long strip of dark and white chocolate delice lay next to a generous blob of salted toffee ice-cream and trails of caramel sauce. Blackberries contrasted with the sweetness along with delectable blobs of sour blood orange gel. How on earth can the duo who run this lovely place afford to produce such a superb meal for just £45? It is absolutely amazing value. I can't recommend it highly enough...do go!More

Le Tour du Monde has recently changed its approach. Serving a 5 course tasting menu (with fish/meat or vegetarian options). Very pleasant ambience, located in the centre of Ventnor with easy parking nearby. The food was absolutely first class. Very flavoursome and inventive with fabulous...taste and texture bombs. Each course was very different borrowing from World cuisines especially Italian, Indian and classic French. The restaurant is run by a talented couple and Fiona runs the front of house superbly, very efficient but also super friendly. Highly recommended. The risotto in particular was Michelin standard.More

What a stunning evening!! A gem of a restaurant located in Ventnor High Street. We were lucky enough to enjoy the 4 course tasting menu expertly created by the chef, Lloyd. Photos do not do justice to the flavours and textures of this wonderful meal....The restaurant was fully booked which lent it a nice buzz, yet the front of house service was perfect. Fiona was an excellent host, the timing was impeccable and each course was described to get our mouths watering. I thoroughly recommend Le Tour de Monde!!More

Having recently moved BACK to the Isle of Wight, we have wanted to try eating here based on recommendations, and Oh boy it did not disappoint. The service and attention to detail is impeccable, and the food sublime. The restaurant is small and very intimate,...and the owners are chef and front of house, and from the moment you enter you are their guests invited to sit and enjoy dinner. This is a restaurant that I hope will continue to make its mark on the ever improving "Foodie Scene" on this beautiful island. For us this meal was exemplary....Thanks to you both.....See you soon xMore

Our group of 4 visited on Monday night after cycling about 30 miles. And what can I say...it was definitely worth the cycle! I had the duck salad starter which was incredible and my partner had the chicken croquettes which were honestly the best I've...ever tasted. All four of us had the tandoori lamb as our main and I can quite safely say it is the best meal I think I've ever had. We all had dessert which is unusual for us and again, out of this world!!! The service is second to none and Fiona and Lloyd are absolutely amazing We are even considering cycling back over just for the food!!! Thank you both!More

Had a truly superb meal here. The tandoori lamb was exceptional like a fusion of Moroccan lamb tagine and tandoori. May sound odd but worked beautifully. Lamb was moist and flakily tender with Tandoori crust. The rice and lentil dahl were great as were the...raita and mini poppadoms. The dish was beautifully balanced. Lloyd really cares about his food. Our other dishes were equally great. Service was second to none. Fiona and Lloyd go the extra mile. You cannot go wrong here. Highly recommended.More
