Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had only our second visit to this lovely restaurant since it opened and wondered why we had waited so long to return. Food was exception and the service friendly and relaxed. I had the pork belly and my wife had the sea bass, both...cooked perfectly. I would rate it as the best restaurant in the city but not overpriced. We will be back very soon.More

First visit for a while, as always impeccable service and great quality food . Only downside is they still have those awful uncomfortable chairs , they need to be replaced removed or reupholstered .

What an absolute delight to discover The Corner House restaurant on our first visit to Canterbury. A friendly welcome on arrival, lovely ambience even on a quiet Monday evening. Delicious cocktails to start, I had to taste the one with raspberry vodka while my fiancé...had the pear martini. For starters I had the smoothest, creamiest cauliflower soup, probably the best soup I've ever tasted. My fiancé had the rabbit terrine which was full of flavour. Our mains were both outstanding in flavour and generous portions. I had the pork belly and my fiancé had the venison. Unfortunately we were so full we didn't have room to try desserts but they sounded delicious. Quality cooking with beautiful ingredients, compliments to the chef and team for outstanding meal. Super friendly front of house staff made for a wonderful experience and definitely will visit again.More

I was in Canterbury on family business. My sister and myself had a two course lunch on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. The lunch menu was fine. I chose a flight iron steak, followed by affagato. My sister had the sea bass, followed by a lemon...meringue tart. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was tasty. With accompanying drinks, it was good value at £40 per head.More

Would give 5 stars for the food, highly recommend the lamb shoulder. Unfortunately we couldn’t wait to leave because it was so hot in the restaurant, the windows were completely misted and almost felt like we were in a steam room. Was also seated in...a doorway which wasn’t pleasant.More

This a fantastic restaurant which comes at a price, but well worth paying for. We are now running out of new menu items to choose from - so it would be great to see a change in dishes.

Yet another fab-u-lous meal at The Corner House. Following on from our amazing Christmas Turkey meal we were hoping it may still be on the menu but sadly not, but we were handed a Valentine’s Day special menu and decided to try the shared Beef...Wellington, not a cheap option but knowing the Corner House standards we hoped we wouldn’t be disappointed and, of course, we were not - absolutely Stunning! The steak melted in your mouth and the pastry was not too thick, not too thin and just soaked up the delicious gravy perfectly - The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the fact I couldn’t finish it all - that broke my heart and, boy, did I try to clear that plate!! We had our usual shared starters with the amazing melt in your mouth pate and terrine and the most delicious sausage roll and I could not manage another mouth full but my husband just had to have his favourite brown bread ice-cream - Corner House, you did us proud as always - amazing food/wine and service - thank you - we will be back !More

I was looking for a great foodie experience for my chef son, many good restaurants don’t open lunchtime out of season and my search was far and wide. Then walking past the Corner House into the city of Canterbury I realised one such restaurant was...literally on our doorstep - The Corner House. I hadn’t been there since Lockdown and tbh I’d almost forgotten it as a restaurant. The booking experience was very smooth and I was able to explain my food allergies and intolerances when I booked. I was surprised that I had the booking confirmed and then the day before I had to reconfirm my booking but I guess that’s to reduce no shows. I particularly liked the layout of the website and the assurance that dishes were seasonal and used local products. I was early for an early lunch but I had a very pleasant welcome and I was able to double check about my allergies. When my son arrived he was impressed by the menu and, like me, that the dishes were locally sourced where possible. My son and I started with the Cauliflower soup and he really enjoyed the treacle bread served with it. I had the sea bass which was cooked just the way I like it and the mussels, spinach and crab bisque were very tasty with the rice. My son enjoyed the confit pork belly and announced that the burnt end croquettes had just the right bite to them. Alas, no time to linger over a dessert but a good strong coffee rounded off . I had a peek at the courtyard area which must be great in better weather for an Al fresco experience. So, Corner House rediscovered, I’ll come back with friends.More

We came here for Sunday lunch as a family with young children and chose the restaurant because of its good reviews. I have to say it did not disappoint! The roast beef was delicious and cooked to perfection and all meals, including the childrens, were...fabulous. Iraklis deserves a special mention, as our waiter, he went above and beyond helping us with food choices and wine, you could tell he really enjoys and takes pride in his job. A lovely afternoon and we will definitely come back the next time we are in Canterbury!More
