A lovely welcome wishing us Happy Anniversary followed by a good and friendly service throughout the evening. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed. The food was delicious. We had smoked trout mousse and wood pigeon for starters and salt marsh lamb and beef sirloin for mains. They were all presented beautifully and tasted fabulous. Hubby loved his dessert and then... It's pretty special when you stumble into a fantastic dining experience completely by accident - and our visit to Deeson's was just one of those occasions. Wandering by on our first exploration of Canterbury we saw what looked like an interesting place with a really good menu, and we booked a table on the spot. Returning later we found ourselves... We ate here twice during a recent stay in Canterbury. We liked it so much the first time that we left a restaurant we'd booked on our second night as we just knew it wasn't going to be as nice. We scampered back to Deeson's and they found us a table. I won't waste your time going on about why... More

I went with my family and in laws. Together there were 12 of us, we were given an upstairs private room which was perfect for privacy. The room was quaint and faced the front of the building which let in plenty of light. Location is brilliant. A stone throw away from the cathedral main entrance and staff were very welcoming.... Although the sign at the front says "British Restaurant", the menu is anything but; it is excellent and varied. On this particular evening, I enjoyed a choice from the Main Menu of seared scallop followed by pan fried sea trout and for dessert, seasonal fruit crumble and hot custard. Drinks were from a selection of English wines. An excellent experience!

Visited for a meal that was originally just for the two of us, but at the last minute we invited some extras and expanded to five. A lovely meal was had by all with attentive service. Can't fault this place 😄

Booked at lunchtime & were received warmly despite being slightly early for our table. We ate from their British Classic Menu which is available till 3pm The food was delicious from Starter through to Dessert with very generous portion sizes. The staff were very polite & attentive. Will definitely be returning.

We visited here the day after valentines expecting it to be a quiet night; we were delighted to arrive at a busy restaurant. The food and atmosphere were lovely, warm and welcoming. All the staff were charming. The food is of good quality English bistro standard if not better. Well worth the visit.
