A delicious Sunday lunch, cosy fire and most importantly a really warm welcome. We felt looked after from entering the door. Food delicious!
Friendly staff from the moment you walk in. Saturday lunch with visiting family. Great food and atmosphere and good value as well.
From start to finish Leon and his team were brilliant. Really great atmosphere. Service was professional but very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was delicious and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
We had a superb 5* pub meal with delicious, hot tasty food (Although the whitebait starter could have benefited with adding a few more whitebait for the price!). Staff were friendly and polite and seemed delighted to serve you. We would recommend and look forward...to returning back again when next in the area. A very nice experience.More
The food at the Millers Arms was better than any pub food I had had in the UK. Even better than any restaurant food I had had. Our inn keeper recommended the Miller’s Arms as a pub and we were checking out historic pubs in...that area of Canterbury, after taking photos of the crooked house. We looked at various menus, couldn’t find anything compelling and so decided to find the pub our inn keeper had recommended. The tortelloni option sounded good so we went inside. The bartender was very friendly and did not mind that I asked to sample a cider, which was good, so I got a pint. My wife sampled one Chardonnay, which she didn’t like, and the bartender steered her to one she did. He let us sit wherever we wanted, and there were very nice tables in the back with pleasant views. The tortelloni was to die for. The sauce was made with shallots and as I am not a foodie I was thinking it’d be OK, but not great—you see I’m just thinking of a shallot as an onion light, but this sauce wasn’t like that, more like a sweet—but not overly sweet—chutney, with minced hazelnuts, and I’ve never tried to write about food, so just try it sometime if you like tortelloni. OK, long review for a good meal. The reason I am writing this is because our server, a co-owner of the inn (we found out later) was so nice. As an American tourist in England—even with British relatives—I still feel like I make some social mistakes, but our server (somehow) just let us feel relaxed and enjoy the meal. For dessert I had the chocolate rum tart—to die for, again—and my wife had green tea panna cotta, as she wanted something lighter, and that was also exquisite.More
Enjoyed dinner here whilst we stayed in Canterbury for a couple of nights, A cosy restaurant, a friendly welcome and the food was very very good! Would definitely eat here again when we visit in the future. Thank you!
We booked in here for a couple of nights as we were attending a wedding at Winters Barn. The staff were friendly, welcoming us immediately. Checked in at 3pm having parked our car in the ANPR public car park across the road and were given...a discounted rate of £10 per 24 hours due to being a guest at the Millers. Double room was well equipped with plenty of storage facilities, a comfortable clean bed and a fantastic view of the river. Bathroom was spacious offering a large corner bath with shower above. Food in this place was amazing, we booked in for B&B, and dined in the restaurant on the Saturday evening. We’ll presented food at reasonable price. The staff were faultless and Paul, a fellow Scot engaged us in good conversation. Leon our waiter/barman was quickly on hand to ensure that we wanted for nothing. Jenny waiting on us for breakfast and was swift in her delivery from the chef, food was piping hot and excellent quality. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff. Mothers day treat. Not been here for a few years. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good menu and wine Very enjoyable lunch .
Enjoyed dinner in this relaxed and friendly pub. Limited menu but our meals were cooked perfectly and served promptly. Staff friendly and helpful. Prices reasonable perhaps because it's off the main tourist route.
We went to the Millers Arms with my sister. We all had the fish and chips which was perfectly cooked, and the presentation was Excellent. The Small portion was plenty for lunch. The staff were very friendly. Plus, you can take your Dog inside.
We all had the Sunday roast, 3 of us had the beef , which was great and one the chicken, again it was lovely. Proper portion size , tender meat and fresh vegetables , will definitely visit again, wonderful experience
Hi Dean, you're welcome, thank you for the review ;)
Yummy and variety meals and friendly staff. Garden was not very spacious but they have tables on the front as well. They have rooms upstairs to stay. Very reasonable distance from town centre.
I often do little cycles runs from 6 miles outside of Canterbury & usually end up here for an afternoon meal. The staff are helpful; the pub is attractive and overlooks the river; the food is limited in scope (but that applies to the vast...majority of restaurants these days-can't get the staff). I almost always have one of their excellent steaks which are rarely anything but 10/10 for the quality of the meat and the cooking. I was in there recently for a birthday dinner and my wife's food was similarly good. I also appreciate being able to find seating where my greyhound can tuck his long legs out of the way.More
Outstanding, friendly and professional staff, over and above service, lovely venue, great food and all for an incredibly reasonable price.
