Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely top service. A special thank you to Keith and his team for fitting 20 of us in and dishing up some excellent food. Especially for accommodating some gluten free and vegetarian members of the stag. All at a really lovely pub right in the...heart of Canterbury.More

We had our wedding party at the white hart this summer and it was the perfect setting. The garden is beautiful and the staff couldn’t have been better. They also did a cheese board for us in the evening and I’ve had so many messages...from people saying how good it was. Thanks to all the staff at the white hart for a lovely day. BeckyMore

Lovely traditional pub off the beaten track. Very friendly, large beer garden and dog friendly. Good choice of Sheps beers. We visited on our way into Canterbury on a day trip with our pup, enjoyed it so much we made it out final stop on...the way back. We didn't eat but the food we saw come out also looked top knotch.More

We've chosen The White Hart Inn as a venue for my to-be sister-in-law's hen do. It was absolutely amazing! Stunning location, very central, walking distance to Canterbury center. They had the tables all set up for us outside under their covered seating area. Keith and...his team are ever so friendly and accommodating. They even gave the bride a prosecco on the house We will all surely be back!! Thanks Keith & teamMore

Well,I understand this is a great place in the summer for the beer garden, but it is a great place in December with a warm fire. My family and I were in Canterbury right before Christmas on a cold, rainy day on a recommendation from...our guide. After a walk from the Cathedral, a beer and a warm meal in front of a nice fire was just the thing we needed. It totally felt like home with the family around a wooden table. My wife and daughter had a pot pie and the rest of us had the tenderloin and vegetables special. Again, it was great, and the service and setting made you fell like you were having at someone's home. This was the perfect way to cap our visit to Canterbury. I highly recommend you eat here.More

I’ve been coming to Canterbury for over 10 years & recently relocated to this beautiful Roman walled haven. Great beer, great location, largest beer garden, and great food - totally recommended.

The White Hart also caters for private parties. I very much enjoyed a friend's birthday party here, when the whole bar was booked for the event. The staff are pleasant and helpful.

We sought this pub out for lunch as it is dog friendly. We had the pide and a salad. They were delicious but we felt the salt was somewhat overpriced. We would return

We were lucky to book this place for our wedding this August. Simon and his Team were truly wonderful from the beginning to the end. They accommodated our wishes and allowed us to transform the pub for our celebration as much as we wanted. The...buffet was delicious and our families, who live in different countries enjoyed it very much. The garden space is fantastic and children were fully entertained for the whole time. Thank you for helping us to make our day so special. All the best for the future!More

Came here on a beautiful sunny day & sat in the lovely garden. The last time I came was back in October 2021 & it was the normal (boring) pub menu but now thankfully there is a new menu of Pide's - Turkish flatbreads which...were really good. I had the Iberian which was tasty. I would have liked a side salad with my Pide. They do have large salads on the menu but a small side salad would've been nice.More

Lovely traditional pub in Canterbury, the pides (Think of a Turkish flatbread pizza) are excellent value and very tasty. There are so many nice touches here, like bottles of water and glasses available from a table next to the bar, and they have a great...selection of classic board games. The Staff were lovely and so helpful.More

We've previously visited the White Hart multiple times over the years. It was a shame to hear about the chef leaving as the previous pizzas were amazing. Returning recently it's great to see it being well looked after with some new items on the menu....We thought we'd try the pides, but just like the other reviewers we definitely thought they were over priced. They're definitely more of a starter than a main meal, something which could be made clearer on the website and menu. Probably wouldn't eat here again which is a shame, but the drink selection and customer service was great.More

Just fancied a pint and a snack near Castle Street and tried this pub on a cold Wednesday lunchtime. Received a lovely warm welcome from Kevin and Caroline behind the bar - the owners as it happened. Unfortunately their chef had just moved on so...no fish and chips or pie/gravy but we decided to try their Pides which are, apparently, a Turkish filled flatbread. We chose a cosy window seat. The decor is calming and combines modern with traditional. Loved the Shepherd Neame art on the walls and the cosy ticking of the lovely old mantel clock. Toilets were sparkling and fresh. There is also a very generous sized garden with lots of tables - nice touch with Hendricks gin bottles as candle holders. A lovely large glass of Merlot and a nice pint and two Pides later, we had a nice chat with owner Kevin. The pides were very tasty, imagine a lighter, crispier pizza - we had the Iberian (chorizo) and the minced steak. They could probably do with being priced lower though. Lovely comfortable pub in a pretty part of Canterbury backing onto Dane John Gardens - would definitely visit again. There are special evenings, for example, serving Caribbean food. Thank you for a very pleasant Wednesday lunch break, Kevin and Caroline and thank you Christine for showing me the garden!More

Thank you to all the staff at the White Hart for a lovely Christmas day dinner.
