Looked for a central pub for pre dinner drinks and happened upon The Black Griffin. Welcoming bar staff and a friendly ambience were complemented by a great seating layout. Highly recommended.

We came in for a quick drink and a rest during our weekend visit to the town. Plenty of beers to choose from, and the prices reasonable. The lady behind the bar was friendly, and the service good.

The barmaids were ill equipped/trained in any type of people skills and I can honestly say I have never received such appalling service in my 34 years of 'pub life' truly awful and to be avoided at all costs. Dreadful.
