A thank you dinner with friends and our first trip to il Posticino. Beautiful food - authentic, tasty and hot. Staff were very helpful. They knew the menu and were able to advise. Great atmosphere, warm and cosy on a cold night. Great value for...money too. Highly recommend the chicken liver pate which was part of the antipasto starter and the spinach side dish was delicious. Definitely worth a visit.More
Found this on Tripadvisor, and also a 5 minute walk from the Premier Inn where we were staying. Initial impressions might be off putting as the main restaurant is upstairs and just a small bar area is visible from the street. Stick with it, the...welcome is warm, and the food and service are outstanding. As advertised, this is very authentic, run by Italians, in case of the server (owner?) from Calabria. We had three courses, meat and cheese etc sharing platter, then venison ragu and fresh pappardelle pasta, then desserts. Homemade and very delicious food. All this plus a bottle of Montepulchiano and one grappa for a very reasonable price (£93 for two). It was a wet Tuesday evening but the place still had plenty of customers. Very happy with this find and would definitely go back.More
Best Italian meal in the UK. The food was sublime fully complimented by the selection of wines. The waiter was both knowledgeable and friendly adding to the overall experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening. We would come back to Canterbury just to eat here...again.More
This is a very nice little Italian restaurant with friendly service and good food. It has a good wine list and the prices are all good value.
Such a beautiful evening when we got out of the rain like 2 drowned rats and were welcomed in with no booking. I was so pleasantly surprised with the upstairs after having always walked past and had seen it closed in the daytime. Just magnificent...presentation of the amazing food. Delicious and exciting. Already salivating over the next chance I get to go again.More
Whilst spending four nights in Canterbury, we chose this delightful restaurant due to the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We were certainly not disappointed. Everything about this little gem is worthy of praise: the lovely servers (who must be the most fit servers in the...city due to the amount of running up and down the stairs!), the atmosphere, the decor ..... and last but certainly not least, the delicious food chosen from an innovative menu. Sadly we could only eat there once but this restaurant was definitely the highlight of our eating-out days. We do hope to return.More
A delightful Italian restaurant with an imaginative menu which it cooks really really well. Particularly good was the warm salad of monkfish, and the lobster ravioli. The house wine was reasonably priced and good. Service was friendly. I’d be there every week if it was...closer tome.More
Our favourite restaurant in Canterbury, small but lots of personality. The service is excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. The dishes are always delicious, a great favourite is lobster filled ravioli, and very good reasonably priced Italian wine.
Fabulous food, freshly cooked. Friendly staff. small menu with lovely choices including vegetarian
Our first time at this restaurant and we will definitely be back. The food was out of this world. Every dish was cooked perfectly I am already craving the fillet steak in that gorgeous Gorgonzola sauce again. The tuna coated in black sesame seeds was...amazing and both our desserts were gorgeous. (pannacotta and croccantino). We both agreed it was the best food we can remember having in a restaurant and we highly recommend . A lovely experience and thank you for the warm welcome 😊.More
The best restaurant in Canterbury. Every dish is amazing but tuna is the best. Great hospitality and delicious food.
Amazing food and service. The tuna starter in particular was lush. We were a really big group and we were so pleased with how smoothly everything went.
We had a great meal in this lovely restaurant. I am glad we booked on line because if I had seen the restaurant from the outside I probably wouldn't have booked. The outside belies how lovely it is. We had a shared starter of lukewarm...monkfish salad which was delicious I had tte lobster ravioli and my husband the red mullet and we shared a pancotta. All were fabulous. The menu is quite small but excellent. The waiter was engaging and charming and ambience is lovely. Would highly recommend.More
