Good afternoon, I am very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your meal with us, but I am disappointed that you didn't say anything to us on the evening itself, as we would've been more than happy to refund/discount accordingly, as well as replace...More

We booked this restaurant for a Saturday night while staying at the Canterbury Hotel, they had a pianist playing which we first thought oh that's not our thing. But he was great and playing a good mixture of tunes most that we recognised! Now as...More

Went into Dems recently for dessert as they have the most wonderful desserts. The Bailey's cheesecake is to die for. Service was fantastic as always. Also a wonderful place to stop for a drink or some food before going to the theatre.

Our party of 3 arrived at the restaurant just before 6pm in good spirits, looking forward to a leisurely pre-theatre meal, followed by an evening of opera at the Marlowe immediately opposite. Its close proximity was our reason for choosing Dems. On arrival, we had...More

The restaurant is centrally located, close to The Marloew theatre, it was attractive to us for that reason. Table booked for 5:30 in preparation for a performance starting at 7:15. We arrived on time, and after discussion, were offered a table close to the server....More

We came here for a pre-theatre meal on a Tuesday. Arrived at 17.45, restaurant virtually full. Ordered starters, which arrived promptly: my chicken liver pate barely tasted of liver (or indeed of anything) and had a consistency which can only be described as vomitory. My...More

Dems is a restaurant that offers something for everyone, from early in the morning to late at night. Our highly acclaimed breakfasts, terrifically good value lunch menu and sophisticated evening menu are hugely popular and served in a beautiful environment in the centre of Canterbury by the very best and friendliest of staff dedicated to help make your meal a memorable one, whatever the time of day. We also cater for the needs of the visitors to the Marlowe Restaurant with a wonderful Theatre Menu that provides a fast 3 course meal for £14.95, the ideal accompaniment to any show. *Please note - we have limited wheel chair access from the St Peter's Street entrance ('the high street) but only a small number of tables in the front of the restaurant; we therefore encourage all customers wishing to be seated at the front of the restaurant to pre-book.
