The Grey Lady is a fantastic venue - great space for a 50th party! Tapas style food was lovely. Communication with the venue before the event was very efficient. Staff on the night were accommodating & helpful.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. Had a lovely meal with my wife. Pardon peppers and Hummus to start. We both had the steak and a coffee to finish. Highly recommend.
If you love Piri Piri Chicken then get yourself over to La Casa Vecchia as it's up there with the best I've had in Portugal. The half a boneless chicken was so juicy & encrusted in their amazing Piri Piri Sauce. It was so good...I could've eaten the other half there & then. This alongside a generous portion of fries & local Cellarhead beer means I'll definitely be going back.More
Excellent service and wonderful food in a perfect setting. Located on the Pantiles conveniently positioned near to parking. It is possible to eat and watch the world go by. Staff were friendly, professional and attentive. Prices were as we expected - reasonable and fair.
Lovely evening on the Pantilles Jazz event listening to Vince Dunn and eating at Casa Vecchia restaurant, food was very good, nice choices on the menu ,the swordfish was excellent! Would recommend this venue !!
Great dinner as always, but service was very poor. Lack of attention, the staff were rushed off their feet
We organised a special private party to celebrate the end of my husband's cancer treatment and to raise money for Myeloma UK. I cannot praise highly enough the team at the Grey Lady (the private venue of La Casa Vecchia). The organisation was flawless and...flexible. Their PA system for the band is excellent so the sound was too. And our friends are still raving about the food. Their Mediterranean buffet was truly delicious and the quantities were extremely generous. It's a great place for a private event and, in The Pantiles, less than a ten minute walk from the station so very easy to get to, both from London and across Kent and Sussex. If I could give them six stars I would!More
Most of the meal was good and the service excellent but I had the slow cooked pork which was dry and overcooked. When I sent it back it was replaced by another serving almost as tough, but I was given a steak knife to cut...through it! Meanwhile the vegetables it came with were now cold. They did try to make it up with a free tiramisu plus candle (it was my birthday),which was nice but I didn’t want it. Everyone else really enjoyed their meal, but I won’t eat there again.More
Welcomed by staff, we had no booking, we're giving a lovely table. Lots of choice on the menu. Wine list very comprehensive. Lovely warm atmosphere in the restaurant, staff attentive. The food was delicious. Very reasonable price, Definitely recommend.
We had an amazing night at The Grey Lady with family and friends to celebrate my other half’s 30th birthday. The venue is ideal for a party and has amole space & seating. The staff were very, very friendly and accommodating. It was great on...the night. Huge thank you, wouldn’t think twice about hiring again for another celebration.More
Very welcoming & comfortable restaurant. Had a great lunch sharing a few starters tapas style. Will definitely be back for an evening very soon.
Okay place to have a meal. Is big and spacious, service was polite and nice but the food was not that great. Was low is taste. Next day my stomach was not well, I ordered sea food perhaps was not fresh. My Pisco sour was...disappointed & I’m Peruvian I was looking forward to have something from PeruMore
A fabulous little restaurant where the food and service is just amazing. Whether you are a returning guest or first time visitor, you will be warmly welcomed by the staff. Food is delicious- large portions and excellent value for money. Great atmosphere and will definitely...recommend and will return myself.More
We had dinner at this restaurant towards the end of September. We booked it very late in the day, but the owner/manager did her upmost and got us a lovely table by the window. I would definitely recommend pre booking, especially Friday and Saturday nights....The restaurant was extremely busy with a lovely buzzy atmosphere, when we came back later to eat, there were quite a few large groups in celebrating birthdays. We ordered the Pinot blush to drink, whilst we decided what to eat. We settled on the honey courgettes Anna the halloumi from the tapas to share for our-starter. The courgette was absolutely delicious. For main we shared the meat paella 🥘 as my husband cannot eat fish. We were told it does take a little longer to cook, but it still came out fairly quickly. It was supposed to be for 2, but would of easily feed 4. Really tasty and better than some I have had in Spain. It was just way to big. The waiter did offer if we would like to take home, but as we we’re only in Tunbridge Wells for the weekend. We declined. We also saw lots of other tasty dishes coming out. My Y husband who loves pork, thought that looked especially delicious. For dessert I had an expresso martini, it was a really good one. And my husband had salted Carmel and rum and raisin ice cream. We were sat fairly close to the ice cream freezer, and the waiting staff were constantly doing ice creams for other diners. If We am ever in the area again. I we would definitely return. All the staff were extremely friendly, and worked incredibly hard. A great little restaurant, in the Pantiles.More
I want to start this review by firstly saying that we have been to this restaurant many times and the location, food and staff are always absolutely fantastic. In the heart of the Pantiles you would be hard pushed to find a better location. The...staff are always friendly and you never feel rushed or that you are asking for too much. As for the food, there is a huge range of choice and every selection we have made has always been wonderful. I would have always very highly recommended. Sadly though this weekends visit, after many previous visits, we had a bad experience due to 2 guests who happened to be dining at the same time. Apparently these guests are “regulars” and one of them is a Detective Inspector (which may explain why the owners of the restaurant allowed them to behave in such an appalling manner) but they really sadly ruined what is usually a wonderful dining experience. When we first arrived, as they were talking to 2 on duty police officers, we didn’t realise what we were about to have to suffer. But once they let the one duty police officers move on after around 20 minutes or so, they proceeded to play Meatloaf very loudly through their tinny iPhone, after the whole back catalogue of Meatloaf we were then treated to Abba and so it went on. Unfortunately due to where we were sitting we could barely hear each other other the noise so asked to move. When we mentioned why to the owner his reaction was less then accommodating (again I suspect this is due to the fact she was a DI). This sadly went on, with whooping and screeching all night. I don’t want this to come across as though I have an issue with people enjoying themselves, however, if this had been a group of young people (or just a member of Joe public) I have no doubt in my mind they would have at the very least been asked to turn the music down, if not turn it off completely. I also completely understand the restaurant have no control over clientele, no matter how rude and selfish they are, but they could have intervened and made the dinning experience pleasant for all, in my opinion. So the summarise, this place is great. Please go. But if the DI is there when you are either be prepared to listen to music you don’t really want to listen to all night or play your own to drown it out!!More
