A local favourite for casual dining. Excellent pub grub, well presented and quantities more than ample, good vfm. Try a shandy of the draughty Amstel beer, very refreshing.

Son and daughter in law newly moved into the area. Mum and dad arrived. So took advantage of the 2 minute drive. When they arrived home the food was still very hot. Good amount of food for each of us. Very tasty. 5 stars. Looking...forward to visiting the pub. Next time we are down from Suffolk!More
Popped in as was staying in the area and needed to grab some lunch. Had the burger which was one of the best pub burgers I’ve ever eaten. Had such a good atmosphere, where staff and customers were so friendly we stayed all afternoon till...early evening. Had a great time! Smashing little pub!!!More
Stopped in during a bike ride round the local area. Landlord and locals very welcoming and friendly. Beer was excellent and the food traditional, good quality pub food. Well worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. Food was cooked beautifully, nice variety of meat and veg, crackling was perfect and yummy cheesecake finished off the meal. Thank you 😃😃. Would 100% recommend.
The staff at the Flying Horse were very welcoming and helpful, even offering to give us a lift back to accommodation if needed as we had walked there and was getting late. The food was traditional pub food, well cooked and reasonably priced. Do not...want to really write a review for this place as it is a gem and don’t want to share it 🙂More
So I’m a disabled wheelchair user, accessible pubs I’ve found difficult to access where as Flying Horse I found on my travel to be accessible which is GREAT. The service form Paul was fantastic, he was attentive and was also very willing to have a...chat to me and my PA about the history of the pub. Food was great and would definitely recommend this pub to anyone the local area or passing by.More
After an exhausting long drive and a full on day, I was in need of a hearty pub dinner and somewhere that wasn’t going to leave me with no change. We had driven past a few pubs which looked empty ... never a good sign...however it was evident by the vibrant atmosphere outside ‘The Flying Horse’ that this was a real ‘locals’ pub. If it’s good enough for the locals then it’s good enough for me! We were greeted with a friendly welcome and the service was very prompt. As we were tired we opted to sit in a quiet area of the pub which we were still able to absorb the pub atmosphere. It was great to see all the old and recent photos on the Pub and the locals on the wall. The menu was exactly what we were after, there was plenty on the menu but after a full day hiking we needed the traditional Jacket Potato. The food was delicious. It was hot, plentiful, well presented and tasted fresh. Natasha the owner served us, she was really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The service was excellent and the food didn’t take too long to arrive which was pleasing as we were starving! It was great to see a local Village pub thriving. Would definitely come back!More
Thank you so much for your wonderful review - we are so pleased you enjoyed your time with us and we look forward to seeing you again 😀
Expectations not met. Food not cooked to a good quality standard. I had a “chicken special of the day”. An alarm bell went off when the food arrived within 10 mins of ordering. Chicken was over cooked with a bland sauce. Vegetables way over cooked....When I informed the owner about the vegetables an offer was made to replace with fresh ones. The second batch of broccoli was worse than the first. I suspect my food had been microwaved. All of this despite informing owner in advance that someone had questioned our judgement in making a reservation. With such information I would have expected greater attention to food. My wife had chilli beef which was acceptable to her. In addition the place lacked atmosphere. Boxes lying around did not help. Nothing like photo. The owner’s reception and level of engagement with us was excellent. We wish her well in her endeavours. Suggestion - smaller menu. Cook things fresh and do not over cook and tidying up the place.More
Firstly, I would like to thank you for sharing your constructive criticism with us and I apologise you found it disappointing. I have been informed that the dish you had, was with you 15 minutes after you had ordered. Obviously food prep has to be...More
Had a lovely lunch at the flying horse whilst in the area. The guy running the place was lovely, very welcoming and helpful. The food was well presented and the Prosecco washed it all down nicely. Would recommend.
Thank you so much for your kind review and we hope to see you again soon 😀
