Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We go to Fresher’s several times whenever we’re in the Lakes, and always look forward to seeing the staff - especially Michael - who really are super friendly and lovely. The food is extremely tasty, particularly the breakfast baps and the quiche, and it’s a...really happy place.More

We came across the fabulous little cafe while wandering around and then read the reviews on TripAdvisor. We had breakfast here on 2 consecutive days having the full English breakfast and a pot of tea. Welcoming and friendly staff. It's a compact cafe with limited...space inside and because it's so good, it gets very busy! There is seating outside as well. My advice is, if want great breakfast or a coffee to start your day of wandering, climbing, walking or bimbling then get there as they open. The food is all cooked to order which means you do have to wait a little while but the advantage is it is totally fresh and hot. All the ingredients were very high standard, cooked perfectly and very tasty. Due the small kitchen they are able only to offer a fried egg, so if you prefer poached they will not be able to accommodate. But all told that is not really an issue. Also, the other speciality of the cafe is CAKE and QUICHE! The bakewell tart is award winning and properly moist and jammy and tasted fantastic. The cafe made us sandwiches and slices of quiche for our long journey home which we ordered the day before we left and collected after breakfast, together with a bakewell, sticky ginger cake (with real crystallised ginger pieces), and Borrowdale tea bread. The food here is amazing, the staff are friendly and helpful, and whether you are looking for just a coffee or tea and cake to a full breakfast you can't go wrong here.More

The cafe was full, but they somehow kindly accommodated 4 us for coffee and cake. So welcoming and kind, moving tables and chairs to fit us inside so we could avoid the rain. The cakes were so freshly baked and delicious, we got tempted by...the amazing quiches fresh out of the oven to take away with us for our long journey back home. All completely delicious!!! Best home cooked food we have all had in ages! We can’t thank you enough!More

Great find as you come into Ambleside from the ferry walk. Very good customer service and homemade cake. We were impressed with the Simnel cake that the owner’s 91 year grandmother had made! The quiches also looked amazing.

Read a couple of good reviews before visiting, during a scenic road trip to the Lake District. It's a small cosy café where the staff were extremally polite and helpful. I had home soup, one of a selection of three which was absolutely gorgeous along...with a slice of their homemade quiche Lorraine which was equally as delicious. The menu is not extensive but is very tasty with mainly home made items. There is a very large P&D car park behind the café, a must visit.More

We have visited many cafes in the lakes and Freshers was fantastic. Very friendly family business with fresh homemade soups, meals and cakes. We had drinks and cakes and a sneaky soup- sweet potato/ butter nut squash and green Thai - delicious Great variety of...cakes - with both firm favourites and different types. Excellent hot chocolate and coffee and the bonus of being exceptionally good value/ prices Do not miss this cafeMore
