Had a lovely lunch here recently. Dogs are welcome at lunchtimes, sadly not in the evening or we would definitely have returned for dinner.

We met a friend for lunch having already checked out the menu online. Yes, it is a sandwich and chips for £10, but what a sandwich and great chunky chips. Served on a platter with fresh hand cut bread and plenty of filling, salad and chunky chips, really what not to like. I had fish fingers off the starter menu,... More

Be sure to make a reservation for this perfect restaurant. The drive is a bit harrowing for North Americans, but the destination is worth the white knuckles. The menu changes so I didn't have the lamb I was hoping for, but my selection was so delicious my disappointment only lasted a moment. If they are offering a souffle for a... More

I absolutely love this place. I've been visiting here longer than I care to remember and today we just popped in for a drink. The Bar is brilliant, the kitchen area a revelation, the staff superb and it's just a must to visit, don't miss it!

The Drunken Duck has steadily got more carried away with its reputation over the years. Yes it's a lovely looking pub with spectacular views but £10 for a sandwich? Really? And yes, it's just a sandwich with chips. Nothing more exciting. Go, but be prepared to flinch at the cost.

This place was recommended to us by a neighbouring holiday maker. Glad we went wonderful decor, great beer and very filling scrumptious food. Was worth the bit extra paid, great sandwich I had falafel one had cheese other two in group had the soup. We were seated inside by the kitchen. It was fascinating the young chefs work their magic,... More

We've been visiting the Duck for over 15 years. Back then it was linen table cloths and attentive waiters. Whilst it is not now so elevated, the quality of the food and service are still as good.

We had been recommended this gastro-pub as the best place to eat in the Coniston area. Whilst I am pleased to have tried it, I cannot go overboard about it. To be fair, the food was very good and we appreciated that, as well as the decor, though that resembled more a pub in the English shires rather than in... More

If you find yourself put off by the excessive praise garnished upon the restaurant industry these days you may find the experience of the Drunken Duck forced and slightly tacky. Firstly to the menu - the options are of the English rustic shire variety. Plenty of varied meat and fish options all well presented and the service was prompt and... More
