Whilst it looks tempting to pop in for a pint after your walk, don't it'll only ruin the end of a nice walk. "This is a local pub" "For local people!"

The title of my review is one of many overheard similar statements loudly given by the regulars who's job was to talk to the barman and block all access to the bar by non-locals whilst singing "Get your jugs out for the lads". It's nice...More

Visited here on the 31st March. Pub was busy with diners and drinkers. Pub had a great fire and atmosphere, including banter with the locals. The food was good enough (I had the sausage and my partner the pie) and the beer was well kept....More

We try this pub a couple of times a year just to see how it is. It usually leaves one with a feeling that the pub should be so much better but never is...a bit of a waste really. Visited just after lunch....sat at a...More

We called in for a meal in response to the sign at the bottom of the hill extolling the virtues of the Sun Hotel. A previous visit some years ago had left memories of indifferent service and we hoped to be able to report an...More

Went up the hill to check this place out and have a drink and was ok but wouldn't go back, its like there is a crech upstairs that kids run riot and make a lot of noise.

After a long walk decided to call in for a drink. If in the area try the Bluebird Bitter as it's quite nice but don't ask for any herbal teas as none available! I know it's a pub but still.

I have just been to the Sun , and there were 2 or 3 dogs in the eating area near the bar, and 2 more in another room. Unfortunate smell of wet dog, but yes, pets seem to be welcome.
