Stopped for lunch. It is an attractive building and bar, with a pleasant outside seating area both in front of and behind the pub. The one behind is a grassy area OK for kids. The beer was in decent form. The food was absolutely average....More

Visited here in August and expected it to be very Busy. Whilst far from empty there was plenty of space. There was a wide range to choose from on the menu and it was all very tasty. Visited twice in a week.

We visited this pub several times during our recent visit to Coniston. We found it to have a lovely friendly atmosphere, be very welcoming to dogs (there was always a bowl of water outside) and the food was delicious!

Came here a few days ago as it was close to where we were staying and dog friendly, however we’ve been back every night since, never eaten the same meal twice and will no doubt continue to visit. Lovely Liverpudlian couple run it with great...More

Pint of Blonde or a pint of Trooper, both super but the best bit is the excellent food. Very reasonable price considering its in the heart of a major tourist area as well. The beef brisket pie, chicken breast with cheese, bacon and leak sauce...More

Had a takeaway from here. Pizza and chips. Very nice. Barman also gave us lots of ice for free as we were camping nearby without electricity. Great food and great service. Recommended if you are camping nearby.

The ship inn is a very popular pub / bar / restaurant, so as others have reviewed, there can be a short wait for food. But as you should also expect, the food is freshly prepared and tastes amazing. This would be our go to...More

When for tea great ales. Good choice on menu plus specials board. Good size portions nice food. Perhaps some technology to help at busy times. This would help with ordering food as staff have to go to kitchen with orders leaving bar, sometimes unattended.

The Ship is a pub, so I think they'd justifiably be upset if you did, but Sara's currry restaurant and The Steam Bistro in Coniston both allow you to BYOB.

We are a traditional English Inn, in the heart of the Lake District offering a warm welcome, helped by a roaring open fire in the cooler months! The bar stocks award-winning cask ales, a selection of fine wines and malt whiskies. We offer classic pub food which is locally-sourced and freshly prepared on the premises. We have Bed and Breakfast accommodation,(one double room, one family room)with both rooms being en-suite.
