My only experience of Tweedies was of an unprofessional, uncivil and curt tall man. We were struggling to find somewhere for lunch that either wasn't fully booked or still serving lunch. I asked if he knew of anywhere else that might be open and he...went out of his way to be as condescending as he possibly could. As a business owner and service provider I'm fully aware of the importance of being professional and polite - this person's behaviour was disgraceful and not ideally suited as the 'face' of Tweedies. I'd strongly urge a robust and assertive conversation is had with this employee and perhaps some re-training.More

Very very rude manager, once could be excused, but this is not the first occasion we have encountered the vile man who seems to be in charge.A quick search of the word rude below and you will see a common theme. Yes staff are stretched,...but wow what an angry little man. Will not be visiting again and its such a shame....not only was he rude with us, but he also had a very heated discussion with a young lady simply asking to be served. Awful. Hopefuly the owners will eventually realise that the staff are letting them down and tbey will get rid of the rotten apple!More

stayed in Grasmere over the bank holiday weekend for 5 days - you have to prebook everywhere as it's so busy - however, the service and food here were fantastic- it's pub grub but really good pub grub! We ate in Grasmere all weekend and...we found this to be the best value for money, best service, and best food. our last night was booked somewhere else in the village and the booking was messed up - we had eaten the night before at Tweedies and w went back and asked if there was any chance of a table - knowing everywhere was full - the team were so helpful and juggled things around and got us table later on - staff friendly and helpful - we will definitely be back !More

Had a lovely meal here. Bar looks a little tired but the food was amazing. One had fish and chips and the other the risotto. Both were good portions and hot.

Difficult to rate the service as Covid restrictions were making life difficult for the staff. However, we all enjoyed the drinks and snacks in their huge beer garden ,tables all safely distanced

Can't fault the location, venue and the amazing outdoor space. We arrived in Grasmere and this was a place we wanted to visit. We ordered a few drinks while debating if we should eat here on the evening. Our drinks arrived but it was wrong....A lemonade come in place of a double gin. We went in to correct the order when a member of staff (back to me) pretended to spit in the drink. His co-worker apologised, however this has made me think the staff are not as good as the venue.More

Amazes me how some people still can’t understand life isn’t normal these days. Once again I’m compelled to defend the staff at Tweedies despite the few idiots proclaiming this and that. Don’t believe their rubbish. All you need to do is look at the positive...reviews. There’s even one where they say they don’t understand the negative reviews. Ladies and gentlemen - this is a normal person!!More

Very unorganised ordering system in beer garden with one lad taking orders at a table after you’ve looked at their confusing, incomplete menu on their app. Queue goes around the beer garden. People wanting to order food but being told that it’s too early (before...6pm) once they get to the front. Dirty toilets (men’s). Not recommended.More

The menu wasn't inspiring but the food was okay. Need to book. Personally we wouldn't come back again. Nice garden on a sunny day.

We ate in the Lodge and had a really, really good meal here. The steak was perfectly cooked, as were the chips and onion rings, the service was friendly, prompt and attentive, and the selection of local beers was excellent. Thoroughly recommended (and we’re a...bit baffled by the recent poor reviews!)More

Good evening Vanessa, i apologise for the confusion, it would appear that on Wednesday you were only actually charged for the pint and not the half, as a pint of Bravado was £6.30. Apologies for any confusion, and for the... More
