Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are looking for a filling lunch, visit Baldry's. They make their own bread and rolls, we had the BLT wholemeal roll with salad and a bacon and brie in white roll with salad. Portion sizes are more than enough and the salad included...pasta with pesto, potato salad, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and sweetcorn. They do gluten free and a doggy menu! Proper tea too. The staff were very nice and helpful.More

Great great place to eat. Varied menu. Homemade bread and cakes. Soup and sandwich followed by treacle tart was my favourite. Really nice cup of loose tea and a comprehensive loose tea menu. Staff friendly and efficient. Dogs allowed and they even get their own...menu. We visited twice during our week stay and will be back.More

Really sweet spot with an amazing selection of tea and great dessert! We had the crumble, bread and butter pudding, and a scone - we were all very happy! Super dog friendly too with treats provided freely by staff and a great selection of doggy...meals. Plus the toilets were beautiful, which is something I always notice! Bath House products and all very clean - love that!More

Marvellous tearoom! Very accommodating for large straggly group of people as ours was. Fabulous breakfast, absolutely freshly cooked and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff (particularly the lass who’d just returned from lambing) My only regret was not being able to...have the wonderful lemon meringue pie, which would be a step too far at that time of day, even for me!More

Fabulous food, freshly home baked rolls and delicious soup. Husband had the Baldry’s stack and thoroughly enjoyed it. Most welcoming, greeted warmly and enjoyed a lovely mid walk lunch with our two spaniels. Would highly recommend as a place to eat and enjoy a high...quality meal.More

5 stars is not enough!! What an absolutely fabulous cafe we visited on our recent trip to Grasmere. We had to queue outside for a few minutes until a table became available but my goodness it was worth it! Such an incredible cake and drink...selection and as someone with coeliac disease, I’m often grateful for a pre-packaged coconut macaroon, but this was the best gluten free sultana scone I have ever eaten. Thank you so much for providing such an amazing array of options. Staff were super attentive, warm, polite and friendly too even though it was super busy. I wish this was closer than a 3 hour drive from my house! Thank you.More

A lovely little tea room in the heart of Grasmere. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It serves a number of loose leaf teas and different coffees and cater for dietary needs. The tea we had was their decaf and it was excellent. Severed...in a good pouring teapot with plenty of hot water in a separate pot. The cake was excellent and we observed other having breakfast / brunch and everything was severed very nicely and looked delicious. We would definitely go here again.More

We visited this lovely little tea room while staying at Grasmere and after a long and very wet hike! We were welcomed and accommodated near to the log burner, which was very welcome! There’s a very good choice of teas, food and sweet treats: cakes...available, all set within a beautiful Lake District property that celebrates its history. The service was very good with staff friendly but not overbearing with no pressure to free up the table! Definitely worth a visit.More

Lovely staff, great cakes. Good food takes time, as does decent tea. I really enjoyed my (huge)scone, which was lovely with lemon curd!
