Had a day out in Hawkshead on our recent Lakes break. Have had drinks here before but never eaten here so decided to give it a go for lunch. We both ordered the minute steak sandwich and were surprised at the chunky still slightly pink beef we were served having expected something a lot less! Nicely priced and good service,... More

We stayed in Hawkshead and ate in the Kings Arms one evening and at a lunch time. We had our dogs with us and the family including two young grandchildren. The food on both occasions was fantastic. The menus were very family friendly, food was served quickly and the staff were very helpful.

Had steak pie here last night, lovely pastry crammed full of tender steak, yummy chips and some greens, could have come with a little pot of extra gravy but was tasty all the same. Also had nice creme brûlée. All a little overpriced but we were in the lakes, pleasant staff and good drinks

This pub offers very good food cooked to a high standard in a busy holiday area . Good value for money and a friendly atmosphere despite being in a very quiet period between Christmas and half term .

the kings arms supplied us with a great supper for 5 hungry travellers when everywhere else seemed to be closed in Hawkshead . The food was perfectly cooked and plenty on the plate as well .

Visited here and food was nicely cooked and presented , staff were friendly and attentive. It was a nice overall experience and also later popped in for a drink , good welcoming fire and bar man was pleasant . This pub cooks good food and does not try to be something that it's not and is well worth a visit.

We ate dinner at the King's Arms Restaurant during our overnight stay in Hawkshead and it was one of the best meals of our two week trip. Service was good and the atmosphere friendly.

Although advertising tea and coffee on bill board outside, the staff seemed lack lustre about providing this service. No wonder the place was more than half empty compared to other venues in the village. Although it was mid afternoon on a Saturday the staff seemed more interested in when we were leaving, than providing a service. We will go to... More

We were staying in Hawkshead for a few days and wanted somewhere cozy and comfortable for a mi-day lunch. The King's Arms was just round the corner through the archway and, after enquiring if there were tables, we were shown a lovely quiet table in the room adjoining the bar area. Not much to say other than that the staff... More

We had evening dinner with friends on a recent trip to the Lakes, the chicken with feta served with fresh veg and sweet potatoe wedges was delicious, my husband had the Cumberland sausage with cheesy mash and veg and again it was very good. All meals served were piping hot and large portions. The food and drinks were very reasonably... More
