This lovely cafe has a gift shop attached which is nice to browse. They are dog friendly and there were 4 or 5 four-legged family members in when we visited. We came in for morning coffee and cakes. My two girls had chocolate cake and a cold drink each and I had a cheese scone, which turned out to be... More

I recommend the cinnamon toast. Love that they are so welcoming to dogs. Cake selection looked delicious but sadly I didn't get the chance to try any as our stay in Hawkshead was short.

Was staying in the village and called in for a cuppa and cake. Cakes were amazing. Very quaint surroundings. Would recommend.

Popped in here post mountain bike ride last Easter on 2 consecutive days. The place seems small and busy but on each occasion our group of 8 managed 2 get sat together. Make the usual variety of cakes and teas/coffees that you'd expect with portions being large. Not the cheapest place but probably on a par for the Lake District.

Lovely welcome for ourselves and our dog as we stopped for drinks and a scone. The tasty, light cheese scone and well made coffee will make us call again if we are back in the area. Thank you

Popped in here on a cold grey January afternoon. Hot bowl of soup promptly served. Little biscuit treat for he dog too. Delicious ginger tiffin slice with an excellent cappuccino, and all good value. Thank you, warmed up nicely!

On a cold, wet January afternoon when several other places in Hawkeshead were closed Poppi Red, a cafe within a shop offered well made coffee, delicious hot chocolate and a superb warm apple cake with cream. Every thing was freshly made and it was difficult to choose because all the cakes looked tasty. Service was friendly.

Decent café in a lovely village, but why so expensive? £ 3 for a coffee,£3 for a sausage roll,£5 for a bowl of soup, why do we have to hit tourists so hard.Average food not really worth the cost.

Poppi Red is a shop cum cafe and during any cold or wet spells can get very cramped inside when it is not possible to sit outside. Very busy when we arrived but good service and choice of teas and coffees.Menu looks very inviting and the soup was proving very popular.
