When we last ate in here it was a lovely vibrant cafe with a good variety of food on the menu. Menu is now tiny ! Pre-pack sandwiches which is very odd. Didn't stay for lunch here .. just tea and coffee .. hardly any customers on the two visits today. One poor girl serving on the till and making... More

Why on earth have they changed this once lovely Cafe into a self service motorway station type of place? We regularly shop at Booths as the quality of the food is very good, however we cannot say that anymore about the quality and service in the new style self service Cafe. The sandwiches were very 'damp' and the coffee was... More

On possibly the busiest shopping day of the year Booths of Ripon did us proud. We wanted a turkey crown and they had all gone from the shelves. However all was not lost as a helpful assistant said a delivery had just been made and he would get one. And he did!!

Stop here for tea/coffee regularly. I have a Booths card so I am entitled to a free drink per visit. If I did not have this card I would probably not visit. Some of the staff are quite unfriendly.

The Artisan cafe that was Booth's food area was delightful, and always had a wait to be seated, as it was so rightly popular. The new arrangement that is self-service is a disappointing development. The service was slow, the food now lacking flair and the ambience quite lost. Shame.

My wife and Ihave visited the Artisan at Booths Kendal on many occasions but we have not been for over a year and today we were in Kendal and decided to visit for a meal. We were looking forward to eating there as on previous visits the food and service have been excellent, on arrival we saw dirty tables piled... More

This café/ restaurant used to be a very good reason to visit Kendal. Then Booths' management decided to shake things up. It is now a self-service café (they claim) with a much reduced and unimaginative menu. The food comes out of the kitchen swiftly but generally cold, whatever you choose. Service was never prompt but used to be courteous; no... More

This restaurant is really lovely inside and the menu is varied and has a range of snacks, light meals, afternoon tea and hot dishes to suit everybody's taste. When we visited they were very understaffed for a Saturday lunchtime and the three front of house people were unconcerned with the growing queue at the till and took their time serving.... More

Never been to a booths cafe before and won't ever be going back to one again. The tables needed a good wipe down, full of crumbs and dirty dishes laying everywhere. Glad we only had a coffee. Well should I say glad, I had a black coffee which was luke warm and weak. Hubby had a milky coffee which he... More
