Lovely bite of lunch. Stopped in Kendal while on a motorbike day out. Was very warm weather and we needed to get some refreshment before setting off on the next leg of our trip. We stopped at this café for no other reason than it was the first one we saw when walking from the car park. The cafe is... More

Very welcoming, lovely and warm with the open fire on. We were welcomed in... even with a 15 week old puppy! Delicious food and a fantastic cake selection! Thank you to Emma and her lovely staff.

There seems to always be a friendly welcome whichever member of staff you get, the recipe is simple in a good way, the food is of a really good quality and well priced. We have had soup plenty of times and it is always really good homemade, the tomato and basil was especially lovely, I took both my children (4... More

I like this small cafe in Kendal.. A fairly straight forward menu with daily specials but everything always tastes fresh and well made. There is also a nice, albeit small, outside seating area. Worth a visit.....

Absolutely pouring down , it was late on a saturday afternoon and most places were closing early. Eventually we were directed to Emmas , what a great call that was . The building is full of character and the staff very attentive and friendly - nothing too much trouble, with a long chat with Emma thrown in . Warms the... More

A really nice tearoom selling good quality tea & coffee & some great home-made food. Service is always excellent, with some really pleasant people working there. A little hard to find, but worth seeking out

Shopping in Kendal with my son and spotted the sign on the wall for Emmas. Walked down the alley to find a really quaint cafe. Never knew it was here. On a cold day it had a lovely real fire. Just had coffee and cake but this was lovely. I normally go to Costa or Neros but that will be... More

Emma is in the process of putting some gluten free offerings onto her menu (crumpets, cakes, sandwiches), which will make our favourite Kendal café even more attractive. Lovely atmosphere, great open fire in the winter and courtyard seating in the summer, excellent food, and now gluten free options as well - highly recommended!
