Popped in for afternoon tea on a cold Saturday. The cafe is small, approximately eight tables. The young staff are very friendly and personable and the cafe is clean and tidy. There is a great selection of home made food, from pies and quiches to...More
Visited Laura In the lakes last Tues22/1/2019.
We requested an afternoon tea for a birthday surprise via facebook messenger. This is not on the menu but they suggested that they could put something together for us. Wow what can I say it was fantastic, and...More
Dropped in for a quick coffee and after seeing the excellent food on offer stayed for lunch. Could have happily eaten anything off the menu from soup, pies, large sausage rolls, jacket potatoes, etc.
Will go again when next in Keswick.
Looking for somewhere for lunch and choose this place at random. Very good soup, tasty, hot and a good size portion. It was nice to have a choice of ‘bread’ types to accompany it and we both chose the cheese scone which was large and...More
Went on a Sunday morning post night shift feeling knackered and in great need of comfort. Had a lovely breakfast, all cooked well, nice orange juice and a gigantic coffee. Quick service! Staff were polite and welcoming but not in your face or fake which...More

There were also reports of stale food. The rosemary roast veg filling I was served in an almost cold jacket potato was tasteless and contained a lot of fluid. It looked as if it was a tinned product.I have a wheat allegy and was served tabouleh and coleslaw as side salads, and plain salad. I wasn't asked which side salads I would like. When the meal arrived I said I had a wheat allergy and cannot eat tabouleh. The plate was whisked away, the jp was transferred to another plate with a plain salad. Where did the coleslaw go?
I had to ask for the vinegar (which was treated as a big deal) as there was no dressing.
However, Keswick is a busy place and you may be able to continue to trade on 'one time only' visitors.
We were planning to stay for a cup of coffee, but the atmosphere was so unpleasant that we decided to go elsewhere. And we found a great place not far away.
