Very pleased to find them open after a wet walk over the tops! Enjoyed a sit in the sunshine in their lovely garden area with a big mug of milky coffee...bliss!

Hoping to call in for a quick tea and a bite to eat but it was closed and the toilets were locked. No sign of any recent activity or an indication when it might open.

Along with at least eight other lots of people whom we met whilst walking to and from Watendlath, we were disappointed that the café was closed despite it being online that it was open that day. We fortunately had carried fruit and water with us, otherwise would've been very hungry and thirsty. Some people with little children and a baby... More

We go here every year when walking from Keswick to Rosthwaite and the flapjack and hot chocolate were the perfect way to recharge our batteries on they way when we visited this year. We were worried it would be closed as we visited mid-October, but it was open and we overheard the owners saying they close at the end of... More

Tucked away, quiet (in October), serving tasty hot snacks and hot drinks. Delightfully atmospheric, and well worth a short stop on you travels to refresh and take in the authentic lakeland atmosphere.

Stopped by on a walk from Borrowdale, lovely little tea room in the tiny hamlet of Watendlath. Selling toasties teas, coffees and cakes it's a perfect rest stop for tired legs. Perhaps a little pricey for what it is, I believe the outdoor garden location makes up for it and lots of birds all to ready to take those crumbs... More

After a long walk up from Keswick this is a welcome sight in the middle of nowhere. Lovely tea room serving basic sandwiches, soup and lots of cake. Sit outside in the lovely garden whilst the bluetits fly up and eat your crumbs. Nice milky coffee at a reasonable price.

Have been here many times in the past 30 years, but this time a pot of tea for one was £2 which is more expensive than London, and the friendly service normally on offer was absent!
