Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The only thing warmer than the lovely scones was the welcome! A lovely soup of the day (butternut squash) and excellent prices and vibe.

Entering the property I noticed the food rating (Scores on the Doors) to be 5*. We all ordered a hot drink and cake/scone. Two of the four cups were chipped as was a plate. The cakes were very stodgy with the scone being undercooked. The...ambience of Mrs F’s is quirky but very dark and somewhat grubby. Upon trying to get the waitress’s attention, I approached the counter of the kitchen and wished I hadn’t. The kitchen was a mess with surfaces covered in clutter and dirty crockery. I’ve just checked the Scores on the Doors website and found out that the establishment has actually only got 2* (Improvement Necessary) from 7/3/24. I will not be going back.More

Very quirky place with great service. Had the best scone since I had one at the Lobster Pot in Portland, Dorset (283 miles apart).

Set on the Main Street we were enticed in by the home made pies. We had a mince beef and onion pie plus a chicken, bacon and leek pie. Both were served with a homemade relish and crinkle crisps washed down with a cup of...tea and coffee. Inside it was rustic and homely with worn settees and cushions. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our visit.More

We stumbled across this quirky cafe whilst exploring Keswick. They welcomed in dogs - just as well as we had two! I was at once taken by the friendliness and warmth of the amazing hard working staff. The furniture and decor also help Mrs Fs...stand out as an unusual establishment of this type. You have the choice of settees, and coffee tables, or the more conventional dining tables and traditional variety of chars. One funny thing that happened was that a rather well to do couple came in the door thinking it was an antique shop, they looked both confused and disappointed when they were told by the waitress it was in fact a cafe, and quickly beat the retreat back to the street. So Mrs Fs do great coffee, a variety of different teas, and the most delectable cakes and also amazing homemade pies, that proved very popular, as it was lunch time we went for them, great choice. Service was efficient and timely, due to low number of tables (6). I enjoyed my time here as there was loads to look at, it was my favourite experience of being in Keswick.More

Really friendly unique cafe. Decor was fab and quirky, seats mismatched but comfy and gave a real personalised feel. Soup was delicious and mac n cheese pie tasty.

The warmest welcome in from the storm! Incredibly friendly, you’ll feel like you’re visiting family for lunch. We had the most homely soup and cheese toasties- just what we needed to warm us up before another day of beautiful Keswick rain! A 10/10 experience (made...even better by the free mince pies!) Thank you!More

Lovely place. Very cosy sitting by the fire on a cold December afternoon drinking hot chocolate and eating tasty pies with my husband and 2 mini schnauzers. The lovely owner was so kind and welcomed us warmly with the dogs. We didn't want to leave...and could have sat all day chatting to the owner. Thank you for your hospitality.More

Like sitting in a friend's sitting room, so homely, relaxed and welcoming. Great home made scones (with clotted cream and jam, obvs), best and freshest I've had in years. Run by a lovely woman, it actually felt like we were leaving a friend's place when...we left :-)) Next time in Keswick we'll be back to sample the pies!More
