Had Sunday lunch yesterday . Two of us had the lamb and our friend had the duck. The duck was tough as old boots and I asked for a steak knife in order for her to be able to cut it . She left a good half of it . The lam was two slices of the fattiest lamb I... More

Been here a few times, and it's mainly very good - been the odd occasion when it's not been up to scratch but never been bad. Went yesterday for lunch and I had roasted vegetables on toast with melted sheep's cheese - it was beautiful! The other two were having the 2 course lunch special, and I was tempted to... More

In the upper reaches of a garden centre this is where knowledgable locals go for lunch! I shouldn't really be telling you this because it's heavily booked already and you might be taking my seat. Food is excellent, as is service. Try a bottle of Wainright ale to accompany your meal.

Visited on a very cold day and we were pleased to feel the warmth of the open fire. Friendly welcome and excellent value for money. Secure cycle storage is available

A fabulous 5 course tasting menu dinner. The chefs choice so each course was a surprise and what a superb surprise, nothing disappointed. Flavours, presentation and service were faultless.

Mrs Millers is a real hidden gem . . . even when you know where it is, the location is still a surprise. Definitely worth venturing into the scenic Cumbrian countryside to check out this award winning cafe/restaurant. A cosy ambiance, friendly staff, and outstanding cuisine at a reasonable price. I had stuffed goose, she had trout and crayfish risotto,... More

Locally sourced juicy and well aged beef, melt in the mouth lamb and a great sea bass and risotto- all three of us dining here enjoyed our lunches and were only sorry that we couldn't... More

We've had cakes and coffees here when visiting the garden centre / nursery, but first time for evening meal. Excellent food and service - would definitely recommend.

We ate an epic Sunday lunch at Mrs Miller's looked after by Rebecca and her team with James in the kitchen. Roast Goose, beef with Yorkshire pudding and lamb followed by damson bakewell tart with custard, bramble soufflé and egg custard tart. A lovely atmosphere. It was outstanding.
