Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Please do not be fooled like we were in the high rating for this b &b. This is for the restaurant and not the rooms. Overnight stop here the rooms are dated, cold and very very noisy. There are four rooms over the pub and...restaurant and there is zero sound insulation - every conversation and slamming of the doors was heard. Bathroom had a hand held shower in the bath. Expected a lot more than we got for £110 - didn't even get a biscuit in the tea tray. Breakfast was ok although the sausages tasted awful. Ate in the pub and the food was good. The landlord needs to rethink renting the rooms and just stick to the pub side. The staff are very friendly and a credit to the pub.More

Was so pleased when just turning up one evening they found us a table, food did take a while to come but understate, was very impressed with my steak & ale pie, carrots, broccoli ,mash with lots of thick gravy.Hubby had Cumberland sausage with same veg as me.He said...it was very good.We also went for Sunday Lunch,Hubby had haddock ,chips, mushy peas & tartar sauce,I chose the Sunday roast of pork with mash,3 veg, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding & thick gravy, everything apart from the pork & lack of crackling ,the pork was tough & apart from a bit of lean meat the rest was thick fat, made me feel sick. Also think they had spilled pepper on the gravy. Despite this would still return if in the area.More

Found online when looking for dog friendly pubs. Staff were friendly and took us to our table. Food was lovely and tasty and good size portions. Can't find ant faults and the price was good. The dog also enjoyed all the fuss. Would 100% recommend...if I the area.More

Great pub with a good selection of beers and tasty food. We went for Sunday lunch which I would highly recommend. Later in the afternoon they had live music from a really good band.

When we arrived the our reserved table for seven had been taken by others. A long wait ensued, until a table was laid. The food order was messed up and wasn’t what was ordered. Very slow and inattentive service. One meal was so long coming...out of the kitchen we cancelled it as everyone else had finished. Part of the drinks we had was waved as recognition of the problems we experienced. However, overall a very poor experience in what could be a very nice pub/restaurant.More

Absolutely love this place but on this occasion we were disappointed- we ordered Sunday dinners and they really weren’t hot. Sent them back to the kitchen and they were replaced and still not hot. Ate them anyway as too hungry to try and find somewhere...else to eat and it was getting late. Commented to waiting staff and owners that we were disappointed and got an apology but that was all.. Totally understand that the pub was very busy, and the poor waitress was rushing around trying to accommodate everyone. Just disappointed this time.More
